Those guides are so informative. Very handy resources. Thank!

Indeed, I always refer to them if I want a definitive answer on something... thank you David.

Hi,
I found these extremely useful as a newbie with no.previous knowledge.
As Calibre11 has now closed permanently have they been located elsewhere ?
Cheers
Dave.

TAG Heuer has acquired this material; when and how it shows up on the TH website is anybody's guess.

Did anyone take a copy?

From what I understand, David took down the site and then took additional steps so that it couldn't be accessed (for example, through the Internet Archive / Wayback Machine). It seems to me that David did not want anyone to take over the site; he wanted it dark / removed from the web, and he seems to have succeeded (except that TAG Heuer is hosting some postings that were derived from the Calibre11 postings).

It’s amazing how many people who have never spoken to me, including those at TAG Heuer, have such a clear view on what “David wanted”.

What happened is much more simple- TAG Heuer wanted to buy the content (the entire “Knowledge Centre”) for their own site, a condition of which was that all this content was removed from Calibre11.com. I would have been happy if someone wanted to take over the rest of the site and reshape it to remove this content, just as I was to hand over the forum at no cost because people wanted to keep it going.

What TAG Heuer has done with the content they bought is sadly beyond my control.

Anyway, this is all old news now and in the past. I don’t like to comment on what happened out of respect for the 10 years that I did have a great relationship with TAG Heuer.

It’s great to see the forum alive and kicking.

By the way, hi everyone 😀

Good to hear from you, David.

Of course, I have never expressed any "clear view" on what you wanted . . . I was just connecting some of the dots / making some assumptions, like other readers.

Hi David, hope you are well! One thing I never fully understood was why you disappeared along with the content. That was the bigger loss imo. Maybe you needed a break, though, and to move on to other priorities, which is absolutely understandable. Hope this is more than a fleeting visit 😀

Ditto. Your absence is felt every day David, but your legacy certainly endures in this community.
