Not yet.
But, I think I can still buy it.
However, there is no stock in AD. They were all collected today.

Weird how TAG Heuer isn’t sticking to the game plan. There must be lots of frustrations in US boutiques for them to go to these lengths.

Unfortunately, HODINKEE is not so well known in Japan.

Last year Hodinkee created a separate Hodinkee Japan website (Hodinkee.jp) and I suppose they're trying to drum up some extra interest with this.

The date takes stage right?
Stage right and left is “named” based on when looking at the audience.

Well that's silly. So is the person wearing the watch in the audience or on the stage?

If they could, that would be sweet. Maybe Hubert, I bet he's got a screwdriver in his helicopter?
LOL, I am not brave enough to disassemble it!

Pretty sure Hubert has a private watch maker working full time for him
On my list! But sadly not yet.

Yes, the first date in the H02 glassbox.
A slightly more right position of the date window would have matched the original better. Mind you, on the original Dato the date window is placed closer to the edge than the subdial. It's not symmetrical either.

TAG Heuer made a tailor made date wheel to allow for the 9 o clock position in the new watch. I haven't seen the Dato date wheel but the standard H02 looks like this.

From this picture you could argue the numbers could be placed closer to the inner edge. Perhaps on the Dato date wheel this is the case and there was room to place further inward..

Am I missing this detail? The original Dato 45 looks so symmetrical to me. It’s actually making me a little batty to now see the lack of similar symmetry in the new Dato “30”.

It’s a bit of a misappropriated analogy to begin with, but in this case, I guess the watch is the stage and we, as the wearers are the audience. 😵‍💫

Ha! It's beautiful, my friends. Wish it had a white outer ring but still looks great in the metal.
