Might've been, that sucker was locked in tight! Just glad I got it off, was deathly afraid of breaking the screw head.

But I can't imagine trying your flame technique on a watch, especially on a screw so close to the leather and movement! 😲
The tip of a soldering iron will also work for heating up a small screw.
