Congrats, really impressed with your collection! In pictures the cal5 module seems to have a bit too much empty dial space, what are your thoughts regarding this?

Thank you! 😀

I think the Cal5 module looks very nice on the wrist (better than in pictures). It doesn’t seem “empty” to me. Reflections from the ceramic bezel give life to the watch, and dial looks “minimalist” if you compare it with the sportier Cal16, but it’s very elegant. I like the Cal16 more, but I also love the Cal5. They’re both complementary 👍

It was love at first sight with this one. Thank you so much Tyler @TyJoSimo43 for great service, some nice chats and for including the written hand signed letter with history of the particular watch. This is my first "vintage" piece, luckily it has the Tag Heuer logo and not the Heuer version.

Do you guys have some good ideas for straps that could go well with this one, I will not wear the plated jubilee on regular basis since I want to keep it in good condition.

Nice TAG 1000 ( I believe it's a 1000 ). How about using a NATO strap instead of the bracelet? Basic black works or you can go for the "Bond.....James Bond" grey and black.

I didn't know where to post this so since the book has plenty of pictures, this looked like the best forum.
If you don't already own this book, you should consider adding it to your collection.
Chasing Time by Alistair Gibbons. ISBN 978-0-7643-5495-3. It cost me around $25.00 USD from Amazon.
It's not a guide to all watches but is a collection of watches the author has owned or repaired throughout the years. Fantastic photos of some rare watches along with a short history of the maker. He also goes into detail about the movements and dials.
Heuer watches that are included are, 1000 pilot, 73473 Driver, five different Autavia's, Bundeswehr Pilot, Carrera Chrono from 1969 & 67, Monza 1978 chrono, TAG Heuer 1986 Carrera Chrono.
Very heavy pages with glossy photos.

Nice book, I will try to get one. Really hope there's a Bund re-edition soon!

I would def wear it on the jubilee. Otherwise a nice nato. Maybe look out for black bays with nato as inspiration given the gold. They have a really nice black one with a center gold stripe.

Really like this new Carrera- although would maybe prefer the older Calibre 1887 version.

I've personally become a huge fan of "Watch Steward Straps", I think that there are many colors in the 20mm size that you need that would look great. They are also SOOOO comfy!

I have the green one for my custom Monnin PVD. Ive attached a photo here. As well as a link.

Thanks so much for your business Jim!

Not only does this month mark 50 years of the calibre 11 movement but also a year since a very lucky Irish boy turned 21 and finally got the watch he lusted after for years. Huge thanks to all the incredible warmth and passion everyone’s given me on this forum. I’ll be wearing my Monaco this weekend when I’ll be rowing at the Heineken Roeivierkamp in Amsterdam. No better way I can help celebrate half a century of the Heuer Monaco!!!

Updated picture of my TAG Heuer “Modular Collection” after last arrivals (Calibre 5 mechanical module, and 5 more straps+buckles) 😀

Although the Kingsman LE orange alcantara strap is ordered but still to arrive! 😁
