That bund strap looks silly! Price is eye-watering! The Fragment branding does nothing and means nothing to me.

The big positive - it gives hope that TAG Heuer will put the Heuer 02 movement into a 41mm Carrera case and produce something as stand out as the 300 SLR, for instance.

Great first look! 👍
Fragment Carrera limited to 500 watches only available from TAG Heuer boutiques and from tagheuer.com.
Even though these appear to be limited to 500, interestingly the back-case press photo doesn't show a numbered stamp (or for that matter the model number is also not shown). Do you think they will be?

If I had an extra $8100 USD, I would be buying this today.
Yeah, it's a big price tag for sure. When I first learned about it, I was thinking it would be ~$6650. Guess it was wishful thinking.

Looks so thick from the side. How does it compare to a cs?

Yes, same as the Telemeter/ Skipper

It's nice, but the proportions look slightly off compared to the original reissues (as one would expect). I would still grab one if the price was reasonable, although it ranks slightly behind the Skipper for me, and only slightly ahead of the Telemeter.

Very informative to have the ‘official’ Cal11 write up. Helps understand the background of this new release much better.

Thanks for sharing all the new photos too (both)

I’m hoping they’ll have a future release at a price point nearer broad expectation, not limited with a choice of more conventional strap and dial that has more conservative branding. Nevertheless it is great to see TH continue to work further to evolve their heritage inspired pieces with modern construction and movement as well as ‘limit’ the numbers on their LE pieces. They can never keep ‘everyone’ happy with every releases - but if they sell out then they’ll be keeping enough people happy.

Yes, they will be.

Forgot to add: the cuff can apparently be removed leaving a “normal” leather strap

It's a nice watch. Certainly one of the best in recent years. Ranked behind the skipper and the CS line of the 90s. It's main problem is that with the 2447 it has some big shoes to fill. I follow @Mr_Orange that the 41 case would be better proportioned given modern day movement thickness. that one also has a slim bezel and no glassbox. It would make the black dial and white tachy pop a lot more. The profile of the Fujiwara is so thick whereas the 2447 looks slim and razor sharp. I wonder if that's aligator print leather. The price is silly for this watch with a leather and nato strap. It certainly needs a bracelet. For 8000 euro (!), 500 pieces doesn't seems that limited and I really wonder if they'll sell out quickly. There certainly seems to be a buzz.

They should become available in the US later this week. I haven't pulled the trigger yet!

Agreed. I could buy 3 CS re-editions for the price of this one. Actually, quite a tempting proposition! Maybe I should add the black dial to my silver at least.

I fully echo your thoughts. I have all 4 SS versions of the CS (3110,3111,3112,3113) and all 4 combined probably costs just a hair more than what they are asking for this new fragment reissue.

My favorite has to be the CS3112 though.
