I didn't know it existed but TH released a special edition 39mm Carrera chronograph in 2011, the CAR2210. An Ebay auction mentioned in the forum auction page caught my attention a few days ago.
Apparently the planned AD release was scrapped late in the project but they sold limited numbers through TH outlets if you can believe it.

David dedicated a post to the watch on the blog at the time:

https://www.calibre11.com/2011-carrera-special-edition/

I haven't seen it in person but from what I can find online I really love this 39mm case. The H02 no doubt wouldn't fit but the Sellita Calibre 11 of the Ronnie Peterson LE probably would. In other words a Carrera 7753 with switched subdials 馃嵖
Could be good!
Interesting story with this one. The idea for the watch came about in 2008/ 9 during the financial crisis...dealers were looking for a much lower cost Carrera than the up-coming in-house Carrera 1887 and so this watch was designed.

Problem was, by the time it came to market, things had recovered and TAG Heuer did not want it over-shadowing their new and more expensive Carrera 1887...and so the model was scrapped, but a few batches had already been made. That is why it was only sold through outlets..

Irrespective of the origins, I think it's a cool deisgn- one of the only 39mm Calibre 16 Carreras.

Really like it, beautiful brushed case. Remarkable that this watch was scrapped for the 1887 but that the new Calibre 16 cbk2110 looks just like it. Coincidence?

Best photo I can find of a FOIS that shows the crystal edge. Similar issue really.

Just for another comparison, here's a pic of my Speedy FOIS. The dome of the FOIS does appear to be flatter compared to the Carrera Fragment. But I think it's maybe the FOIS's tachymetre outer ring and pure black face that keeps its proportions. It's also a 39mm watch but it never feels too small.

I was very keen to get a Carrera Telemeter when it first came out, however I was less impressed when I saw one in the metal as it felt a little too small on my wrist.

For the record, I think this new Carrera Fragment is a fantastic looking piece! I love the overall vintage look of the watch and the unique croc cuff strap. I would be happy to own one. But the asking price is a little too high for me at this time. Also, as much as I like the look of the strap, I'm not sure if could pull off wearing it that way, I might not have enough "street cred". LOL. 馃檮

Hah, yes, I'm in the same boat. Wearing mine today on the Telemeter strap.

The biggest difference for me between this watch and the Telemeter is that the Heuer 02 has a flat dial, while the Telemeter has a slight "pie pan" finish, which to my eyes makes that dial look smaller.

I think if Carrera' sapphire crystal had a "straighter" angles, like the FOIS, or the 38mm El Primero, which are roughly the same size, then there wouldn't be that noticeable difference.

The Carrera's glassbox "dome" robs too much visibility from the dial, thus making it look much smaller.

Compare this to the sharp angles of the crystal in Zenith's El Primero 38mm; no dial visibility lost there.

If anyone here is planning to get one of these, you better hurry up! It's about to be sold-out.

I'm surprised that they've lasted so long...I'd guess that it was the price that made these a harder sell rather than the watch itself, which is fantastic. How's this for a "meta" shot?

Yes, I am a bit surprised about this too. In the end, I think you are right, either the steep price, or maybe its vintage diminutive size, likely played a factor in sales.

In any case, hopefully someone here will benefit form this Public Service Announcement.

On the other hand, I am not surprised. It was horribly over-priced and if you didn't like the Telemeter, you were unlikely to buy this model.

I would certainly have bought one instead of my Tudor Black Bay if it was priced similarly. Unfortunately it seems like Tag has priced me out of their future. 馃檨

I hope they make another non limited version one (without the Fujiwara logo) but still using Heuer02 movement.

Sell it for less price too...

Indeed, I like to buy in their past
