··TAG Heuer Forums ModeratorI’ve never really noticed it on the Speedy. The dome is jowhere near as probounced as the Telemeter. I just see it as part of the ‘charm’.

·The glassbox is a biggy but the other issues (subdial diameter, lugs, case thickness) are relevant as well. No good heritage Carrera to be made with this 39mm case I'm afraid. The case diameter is really not the issue imo. I love my 39mm calibre 5 because of it's proportions. Begs to wonder why the obsession with having the 'too thick for the cause' H02 in a classic Carrera.

Honestly, I have no gripes with this Carrera because I'm just so happy to see a dial that's close to the 1960s original. Would I shave off some thickness here and there? Probably. (same formula applies to my waist) But I'll take it.
In short --> I actually like the swollen glassbox look. Then again, I'm a fan of super domed crystals. And I also like the larger subdials too. Feels like a 2018/19 rendition of the past. I'm 5' 7" so anything 40mm and under is my bag. If this case was 41mm it just wouldn't feel right for me. (especially since it's a bezel-less design)
Just bought a house, so I hope to get my hands on one of these in the future but just can't do it now. Got to renovate this place first. The kitchen design is from the same era as my 1163. Maybe earlier. Breakfast feels like a time warp in here.
Thank you again for the pics. Almost as good as seeing this thing in the flesh.

The "ring" is probably more pronounced due to the glassbox angles. How does your FOIS compare to this?
The curvature of the glassbox completely diffracts the ability to view the dial clearly unless you are looking at it perpendicularly.

·Update: I've finally fitted the Telemeter strap to the Fragment Carrera...and makes a very big difference. Yes, it's a "normal" strap which throws away the flair of what the designer had planned, but I couldn't get used to that shiny cuff/ strap.
Have to say that I love this watch..absolutely one of my favourites. I know many would like it better at 41mm (@Hubert 😎 ), but 39mm is spot on for me.

·I didn't know it existed but TH released a special edition 39mm Carrera chronograph in 2011, the CAR2210. An Ebay auction mentioned in the forum auction page caught my attention a few days ago.
Apparently the planned AD release was scrapped late in the project but they sold limited numbers through TH outlets if you can believe it.
David dedicated a post to the watch on the blog at the time:

I haven't seen it in person but from what I can find online I really love this 39mm case. The H02 no doubt wouldn't fit but the Sellita Calibre 11 of the Ronnie Peterson LE probably would. In other words a Carrera 7753 with switched subdials 🍿
