Looking at the limited photos avilable, legibility does not seem to be affected in this new release by the distortion that the edge of the glass box introduces - compared to the similar sized Tele 18 at least. Comparing a perpendicular view of both this new one seems easier to read. I think the β€˜flat’ dial helps too.

And here we have it Ladies and Gentlemen; the Calibre11 post of the year!πŸ˜‰

I quite liked the first look of the watch, but that logo and the text on the side destroys a bit of the overall feeling of the watch. Looks like some kind of Bamford and I have to admit that the proportions of the dial don't fit my taste. However, super cool that we see the Cal. 02 movement in more watches and especially the some more "classic" looking watches.

Please note that I don't say anything regarding the strap. My parents always said that "if you don't have anything nice to say it's better to say nothing at all"...πŸ˜‰

😁😁😁

It might not be nice. But if I buy one - chances are Tag will forgive me. Companies don’t care about β€˜nice’ they compare about money. And TH have had quite enough of mine this year. I’ll complain about the strap of every new tag until they fix it. Their stock leather straps are crap and their clasps are cheap. Foolishly I still buy them. Maybe ranting here about my pet peeves is some sort catharcism for wasting my money on tat 😜

Edit/update:

Just to add my comments about strap quality overlooked the fact this new model has a bund strap. My comments related to these three that came with a somewhat sub par strap. So it was a general comment. Not directly aimed at this one. So I appologise if that was came across as overly negative πŸ‘

I think @Lugduno is telling us to shut up and that we are not nice (as a Swede I am of course very offended by this and will post many tweets about my hurt feelings) 😁

Sorry for going off topic, I will shut up now πŸ˜‰

Nah, it's more like I don't want to talk to bad a watch that 1). I haven't seen in the metal and 2) talk bad about a watch that some people on the forum might really enjoy. But I like your arguments with taking that up with TH, I would definitely do that. I can't speak for the rest of the brand in general, but I can confirm that the original leather strap for the Autavia re-issue wasn't brilliant either...

Not that bad actually! It's up to us northerners to always be the devil's advocate for these kinds of things. Maybe I've just become to continental to be good at that job anymore πŸ˜‰

£6,600 😲
I think I'll pass this one too be honest...

But to end on a bit more positive note, the rotor looks really cool with the text in yellow!

Fair point. And respectfully noted

I hope every watch I fancy in that case ends up having glowing reviews and is to everyone's taste 😁. After all we’d hate to asume anyone was not capable of making their own minds up.

After all that fuss I’d have expected you to buy at least one for each wrist 😁

I'm not entierly against! I just want a rather hefty discount and then a more classic black strap on deployant clasp. After those small requirements has been fulfilled I'm up for a few!

I actually really like the overall design and could overlook some of the graphic motif quirks tbh.

But for that price I’d be more inclined to plumb for this....

This is the sort of watch that I want to see heuer branded, ignoring the silly special edition stuff, a 02 in a heritage case is something to celebrate. I'm cautious of the telemeter case, based on @Hubert 's feedback, but this was much improved with the skipper and I like how the glass box concept tries to maintain the shape of classic plexi watches with the durability of sapphire.

I quite like the strap too πŸ˜€

I'm happy to see the heritage carrera too.

Probably not for me based on the price and my splurges earlier this year.... the previous cs series reissue carreras offer a better value proposition (I hanker after the cs3112 personally)

Hopefully this is the first of a series of additions to the heritage line!

The case back looks neat, like the yellow. Heuer only bridge and rotor, thumbs up for that. Huge SS logo though πŸ˜’. Price too steep. However first 02 in heritage Carrera and in a case size smaller than 40mm so historically interesting I suppose. I just spent my evening re-reading up on the CS editions of the 90s though. What a fantastic range of watches πŸ˜‰

Agreed. I could buy 3 CS re-editions for the price of this one. Actually, quite a tempting proposition! Maybe I should add the black dial to my silver at least.
