A little background story on my TAG Heuer x Team Ikuzawa by Bamford. After kicking myself for not buying last year's Carrera x Blue Porsche RS 2.7, I was immediately taken with this Ikuzawa release. It pushed many of my same buttons and the JPY price was fairly reasonable in USD. On top of that, the watch was announced on my birthday. A clear sign that I needed this watch. Only problem, this was a Japan only release.

But with divine intervention from a good friend in Japan, who acted as my advocate, a Japan TH boutique agreed to sell me the watch and ship it overseas. This all happened within the first week of release, before they sold out. Then came one issue after another and delay after delay. At one point, I thought the watch had been lost or possibly stolen. However each hurdle was eventually cleared and in the end this watch was meant for me. The perfect BD gift to myself for 2023. 😀

A few shots of my box set.
Will you wear it on the leather strap or will you save that one mint in de box?

A match made in @Mspeedster Heaven.
Congratulations again Michael. I can tell this Watch means quite a bit to you. Wear it proudly my friend.
Thanks for letting the rest of us know what a dream looks like. 👍 So beautiful! Glad it all worked out for you, Excellent pics too! 🥰

Happy this one worked out for you, @Mspeedster. Thanks for sharing the story!
That is a cool story, fairplay. One that paid off for you nicely.@Mspeedster

Thanks guys!

Funny you should ask that question Jim. I'm wearing it today, but I'm looking for other strap alternatives. If TAG makes a replacement for it, I'll use it. BTW, it's not leather. I'm not sure what it is, I read it's supposed to be like the Nomex material used on professional racing gloves. But seems a little different to me.

Here's some pics.

I like the look on a rally strap too. Here's some shots with my Monaco strap. I've ordered a red leather rally strap, which I think will be fun.

I also bought this Omega NATO strap specifically for it. Not sure if I'll keep it though. It makes the watch sit very tall and the red stripe might be a much.

But I do really like it on the bracelet as well.

What do you guys think? Which look do you prefer?

Personally bracelet or rally strap, didn't one of the Monacos come with a black rallye and red stitching? Think the red one from the 50th, that would look cool. Making me miss the WoS Ed I had.

Nato is cool, but not sure if it suits this chronograph

I have to say, it’s the white Team strap everyday for me. I totally get the worry about wear though.

Can’t remember how you scored this, but it will score higher at end of year from me. Growing on me big time.

This one, by far! 👍 It is the specific strap that makes this watch even more personal and different

Totally agree. That strap and that photo.

Need one of these too…

I've thought about the shirt. But $143 USD is hard to justify. That Mai is a marketing genius. LOL 😗

I feel the same. It's very comfortable and light too.

I'm just scared of getting it dirty and worn. I'd like to get a spare, but will have to check into whether TAG makes them.

I second the specific strap, looks great on that. Bracelet is a good second. A black racing strap with red or white stitch would be third choice.

I hadn't thought about a racing rally strap with white stitching, that would work too. The 00s Monaco 50th's strap is black with white (or light gray?) stitching. Also on the Night Driver Monaco.

Actually the Red 80s Monaco 50th's strap has a red backing on the underside, the strap has black stitch.

Seems there's not much love for the Omega's "Japan" NATO strap, so it's probably going back to the store. I thought it would match well, but after trying it, I wasn't really feeling it either.

Thanks! I knew you had the 80s, but didn't know about the 00s. Is that a recent pick up for you? Or do you have the whole set like @Hubert now? 😉

I've had the 00s for a while, but no additional ones from the series. Would love to pick up a 70s someday. 😀

Wonder about a red leather rally strap to balance the white, wouldn’t get so marked maybe, photoshop heroes?

Great minds think alike. I have red rally ordered. Will post pics when I get it.
