Yeah @Snowy congrats man! Would love to have this one. Since you're already an Ikuzawa fan this is a no-brainer. Love the 906 miniature. My favourite GT Porsche of yore. Also have a vintage 1/43 miniature of that one. But not the watch...
Even without the Ikuzawa link it's very good looking watch.

This is what the Skipper should have been!!!!
It's also what the Porsche 911 x Carrera should've been. This one seems more special, with an extra strap and model car.

I also reserved that watch. There's a problem with my number and I think I'll be delayed in receiving it. I look at this minicar and wait for my one to arrive.

Ikuzawa is also involved in the Nissan Skyline legend.

His rival at that time was Shikiba, who drove a Porsche 904. He started a company called Racing Mate and sold car supplies. At that time, Shikiba custom-ordered Heuer Monza with Racing Mate logo.

I am looking forward to putting the two watches side by side as I will have both.
Big Congrats @Snowy!!! I really like this one! ::psy::

£5200 seems kinda reasonable compared to the Monacos
Yes, but keep in mind the Yen pricing is done for the Japan market. A simple currency rate exchange isn't an apples to apples comparison.

For example, the H02 Monaco Gulf is priced about the same as the Ikuzawa for JP. In the UK, the Monaco Gulf is 6800 gbp, which is probably where TAG would've priced the Ikuzawa in your market, rather than 5200.

I think this would qualify as one of the top 3 releases of the year - 60th anniversary Carrera, Night Driver and Ikuzawa (not necessarily in that order).
For me too. If I lived in Japan, I probably would've bought this one.

Hodinkee article: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-tag-heuer-carrera-chronograph-x-team-ikuzawa-by-bamford

Note, Hodinkee also did a straight Yen to USD conversion to come up with a price of $6300 in their article. Which again I feel might not be a realistic price if TAG had released this for the US market, given that last year's Blue Porsche RS2.7 was $7750.

Having said that, the price is what it is. Any foreigner visiting Japan would get it at that price (if they're fast enough), which is quite reasonable!

Just as I suspected, the Team Ikuzawa is priced exactly the same as the Blue RS2.7 in Japan. Both are 968,000 Yen.

Interesting, it seems the white strap is made of racing gloves like nomex material. Very cool!

I bought one of her shirts recently…

Nice!

I would buy one of these jackets. But the ones on her website don't have the Heuer patch. Perhaps this is an updated style that will be coming in the future.

I would be willing to bet, those patches came from George B.

I’d get one too 👍

Interestingly not CBN201F, but this was the prototype I guess given the 0/100.

Yes I believe it's a proto. Picture is from a member of Hodinkee Japan.

Here's a pic of a production watch, with the correct part number.

Interesting clip on the strap back for ease of pin removal?
Aka quick release springbar.
