·Hello,
New on this forum, I have had a full sized 40mm case granite dial 1500 since I purchased it new in 6/1993. It’s in great shape other than the movement died last year, had a watchmaker put in a new ETA 955.112 not Tag branded, but I just found a NOS Tag branded ETA 955.112 so I picked that up. Now, the crystal, mine is an earlier model with a mineral crystal that current has 4 chips in it. I was wondering if I could replace it with a sapphire crystal as Tag put these into the 1500 a couple years later, I mean why not put in a better crystal right? I am assuming it’s the same size as I can’t imagine Tag changing the case for the sapphire crystal, I also picked up a new seal set since I am sure these are toast in my watch.
So on to the 2000, looking to pick one up but I am seeing that the full sized model is only 38mm, odd as I thought the 1500 and 2000 full sized models were the same size.
love the site and glad I found it. Will post a photo of my 1500.
