I’m really tempted to take the front plate off mine. The fine for no plate is less than the fine for 57 in a 50 too
The plod who stopped me told me he’d seen me regularly and would keep a look out to ensure I’d complied, he said it would a £100 fine and my personal plate could be seized, a bit over the top I thought, it was at least readable unlike many others in strange font or altered in some way, all done in a friendly manner and turns out his uncle is a friend of mine.

Here in the US, front plate laws vary by state. In NY we are required, but in neighboring Pennsylvania they are not and so I have heard that you can get away with it. You may be ticketed by an overzealous parking agent though. I'm going to see how long I can hold out, but our plates in the US also do not fit on the front of cars so I'll probably have to buy some sort of adapter that I won't have to drill into the bumper for.

I just paid $7k US for it 🙁 Ramen for me this winter.

A tow hook plate mount is a favourite for a lot of the Porsche guys stateside.

Ouch on the repair bill…..but she’s worth it

Used to have this tiny plate on my Lotus. It was held on with velcro so the larger one could be swapped back if needed. I never got stopped for it, though.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the look and in many cases they don't stay straight for long. I figure I'll get a clamp-on holder like the Carbonio if I need to

Mega little machines the Elise. Prefer the Exige myself and if there weren’t so many crossovers with my other cars I’d have one.
