In NYC Adam??

In NYC, yes (I live in Queens, with a garage in our building thankfully!)

But not a Panamera :D

997 turbo, that’s badass dude. Congrats!

Thanks man, it's the culmination of basically my entire life's obsession lol so I'm absolutely ecstatic!

I'd love an air-cooled but I just don't have the lifestyle that would allow me to care for it properly so getting my hands on the last of the manual-transmission, Mezger engine Turbos was basically all I could think about ever since they went PDK-only for the 991.

Indeed, I have the watercooled 911 for fun and the Taycan for family life. These 997 turbos are 5k taxes a year over here unfortunately...
I wish you loads of fun with this car! Maybe a fall cruise to new england is in the cards?

Love it! 997 turbo is one of my bucket list cars, the 997 is the last of the ‘right size’ 911s and is so usable.

Oh I'm gonna have fun, even the highway slog driving it home was an experience compared to the S2000 (which is never all that fun on the highway, or with the top up)

My mom lives up in the Hudson Valley and we're going up for Thanksgiving next week, and I can. not. wait. to open it up on the twisty parkways that snake up north from the city :D

Yeah I kinda like the 991's size too, coming from a very cramped cockpit in the S2000 I was hoping for something a bit bigger. But the 997 Turbo has always been my #1 aim (realistically speaking; I'd love a '72 Carrera RS 2.7 but that ain't happening lol).

Maybe someday, a 991 GT3 Touring though.

Thanks man! The watch collection's probably not gonna be growing too quickly for a little while lol. Might shrink a small bit too ;)

Nice weapon for the twisties. Enjoy.

The standard Turbo as I understand it is maybe not quite as much a weapon as the S2000, but this one has the rear axle differential lock so it really likes to turn in :D

Congrats Adam! Welcome to the Club! The turbo is just one mean machine!

I personally feel the 997 is the nicest looking version of the modern water cooled 911s. The 991 & 992 are very nice, but they look longer, wider and just plain bigger. I prefer the body proportions of the 997. Hence, I've never felt the urge to upgrade from my 997 (owned since 2008) to the newer ones.

Thanks, it's so cool to be part of said Club and I can't wait to start driving it all over :D

I agree about the 991s and 992s, I think in a vacuum they're great and I would love one. But when I went to first check this one out, it was parked next to a brand-new 992 Turbo and the size difference was absolutely staggering seeing them next to each other.

Great looking car congratulation.....
My choice of modern 997
Classics......930, 964 Turbo or 993 Turbo, the 993 is probably the more drivable of the calssics...

The car that started my passion was a cousin’s 930, a 1987 in Guards Red. I can still smell it… I think the 993 is the most beautiful and would love one but again, a car like that is more of a maintenance relationship than I can practically carry on. I need a car that will start up and drive when I want to, and the 997 is in the sweet spot for that.
