Today first day with battery life on the level of my first generation connected: 11hours and still 51% left. Used it as always: many notifications, connected to iPhone, and of course: looking at the time 馃榾
I would get around 20hours now, thats absolutely ok for me. (charging every night, as with the first version)
Good numbers. Thanks for sharing.

My watch battery was insanely good yesterday... did not charge accidentally last night, still 3% this AM!

Did a hard reset after the update, ADB on-- let watch run down to zero a few times, now I seem to be fine through the day no matter what, charging back to 100%

Thanks for the follow-up. Based on your observations, what's your opinion about the value of doing a "hard reset" before the battery calibration for the remaining people struggling with their battery life?

I am not sure there are enough metrics to substantiate the role a "hard reset" plays prior to the battery calibration. I did mine on both of my watches (original and Modular) without the 'hard reset' and both seem to deliver roughly equivalent numbers. This graph primarily shows battery discharge on "idle".

I felt at the time that putting my watch into complete 'factory' mode was the thing to do (I had reset a few times before, but not the deep format from that boot menu) so I would have a completely clean os to start from before I did battery calibration.

I don't think it can hurt to do the hard reset, but my own experience is that I've had a better use and battery life since doing that-- but right now I'm in a good place, hope for that for everyone else here too!

Good to hear. Yes, I think for anyone still struggling with poor battery performance should try doing the battery calibration. If that doesn't yield comparable numbers to what other users have been reporting, then doing a "hard reset" followed by the calibration should be the way to go.

Finally picked mine up yesterday, took a while to arrive but so happy it's here. Battery only lasted half a day until I got it updated last night, now on 32% after 12 hours so hoping it improves further as I use it more. Apple Watch was roughly 18-20 hours which I was happy with.

That tourbillion face looks awesome by the way, one my battery is ok I'll get watchmaker app sorted. I don't want to do it till I know the battery is ok so it doesn't get blamed.

Thanks to all for a great thread btw

Congrats! Yes, continue to do a few full-battery drain cycles, in order to calibrate the watch battery consumption. Afterwards you should have a pretty good measure on the "factory" tolerance. Then as you said, you can move to Watchmaker to gauge its duration.

For info on fourth cycle now, last time I allowed battery saver to stay on for last 15%, and I got 30 hours, use as per my previous post.

That sounds comparable to what other users are getting; thanks for posting.

Hello

Are you experiencing issues with the GPS ? Since today I can't get my position on either google maps or Uber.

Day 1 of my Connected 2 (on iOS) and not loving it (AT ALL!!)

Having all the issues mentioned above, however the most frustrating is around Wi-Fi..... It wont stay and sometimes wont connect to Wi-Fi at all??

Any fixes I am missing or is this ANOTHER iOS issue......?

WiFi is a bit inconsistent; even when paired with an Android phone. What got mine going, was exploring the watch's Settings > Connectivity > Wi-Fi > Saved networks
Once I view those, it was able to automatically connect to my "home" and "work" hotspots.

However, from what others have said, on iOS the WiFi behavior is different, to the point where you can't even see Wi-Fi on the watch' settings. Do you see WiFi on your watch' settings?

I have the watch paired with an iPhone. I had issues seeing my network but I was able to resolve it by changing wifi channel on the router.

The watch connects rapidly and no special drop outs.

Thank you for sharing your solution! Hopefully this will work for @Mike TAG

I can't connect to my work wifi (but that has some special email clearance thing so even my phone can be funny with that) it connects to my home wifi no issues though although I'm not entirely sure I need it to other than to update!

Updates after 1 week:

- Battery - after a week of draining it down to less than 10% each day - the duration went from a 10 hour day to a 16 hour day. Of course this is no wifi - but it runs bluetooth connected to phone constantly. I also unplugged it at 97% a few times and plugged it back in to get 100%. Now it seems to charge to 100% by itself. Much better performance.
- I was disappointed by its lack of maps and some other functionality with IOS so I went and bought a Samsung S7 edge this week. I have been an Apple decipal for many many years so it was a big decision to venture into Android. 2 things - it was crazy easy to transfer everything from one device to the other and Android has some very cool features that the iphone's don't. That said, the Tag just works much better with Android. I am not having any paired connectivity issues and notifications are instant.
- Physical - Rubber strap is awesome - its comfortable and takes the knocks of day to day use. The watch is thick but does not feel heavy and frankly has caused no discomfort with a full day of wearing.
- Wifi - stills drop regularly and I tend to just use the bluetooth paired to phone that is on wifi. I do think we are putting a lot of devices on our wifi's and I am going to do some channel swapping - hopefully its doesn't take everything else out!

I hope Tag and Android do updates and add ons as it would be nice to see them keep improving.
So far - so good.

Are these results achieved with the ADB debugging switched on? I have mine switched on and I'm getting a 19 hour day, I was just wondering if it's now time to turn off the ADB debugging or do I just leave it on permanently.

No Adb bugging at all. Just a week of conditioning the battery charge cycle.

I've been running the Watcmaker app for a week, always on, screen always on with dimming mode. All other watch functions as previously stated in this thread. Pleased to report still around 25-26 hours. It definitely makes a difference to consumption but not drastic enough to not use it.
