The black face watches look spot on. Colours look artificial. The automatic light feature is annoying and is already turned off with light set to level 2.

Battery is suspect. Lost a third in first two hours today with only a little bit of messing with it.

From my iPhone I am receiving text messages, even iMessages but cannot reply. Watch buzzes on calls but can only cancel, not accept the call. Notifications from news and sports are coming through automatically. So you get the same list as you do on the iPhone notification screen.

Cannot work out how to transfer the calander or contacts to the watch. If anyone knows how to do this then please tell. Guides online don't work.

Strangely, google maps is not installed and had to do this myself.

Music playing on the iPhone can be controlled on the watch.

All in all, if I could sync the calander and work out how to link the fitness apps together then it ticks the boxes.

Any other questions, ask away.
Dc 42, How do you install google maps ? I can´t with iphone
Thanks

one thing that I don't like and I couldn't figure out if I can fix it or not is that if I want to change face to another color, after a few second it goes to power saving mode and it's black.
is there anyway to change the face color on power-saving mode to another color or even disable it?
cause this way, it doesn't make any sense to have this option. if you want your watch face white, but it keeps turning to black because of the power-saving mode

If I understand your question correctly, you are asking if there is a way to always display the white (or full color) dial; is this correct? If so, this would drain you battery in a few hours and therefore impact operations. That is why I don't think is possible to do this with the "factory" settings.

Your best bet is to download WatchMaker and install custom watchfaces. Those typically have a power saver-mode that will do something like what you are looking for, but be warned that they will consume more battery than the factory faces.

Update day 2 with new build

Update day 3 with the Pujie Black dial but enabling ADB Debugging, no perceivable difference, got roughly the same 10-11 Hrs so Pujie for now is out (trying to contact developer to address high battery consumption)

I'm back to stock watch face today (day-4) and back to consuming about 3-4% per hour which should last for little more than 24 Hrs.

I'm going to start installing other apps (Maps, Google Music, Nest) and see if that changes anything

Thank you for the the response,
not the full color but at least goes to power-saving mode in the same color that we chose to be our watch face.
otherwise I don't understand the purpose of having the option for different colors as it turns to black all the time. so basically we can just match our clothing based on a black face watch, right?
It's a luxury brand and my expectations are high, It would be nice if they update the software and let us have the option to choose

Hey Guys, have been really enjoying reading this thread and listening to everyone's experience with the new Connected Modular 45 version. I am really tied in knots on if I should sell my current connected MK1 version and buy the MK2 one?. It would be great to hear people's opinions on Do or Don't! The way I look at it is, MK1 I can upgrade to mechanical one for paying the same but to have hand in my digital module. If I invest in MK2 version then I can do the same for mechanical module but also keep my digital one, so is that not a better upgrade/swap deal and get the new functionality too?

Hi @binlo I have a thread for that; please check it out. Hopefully it will give you insight to make a decision.

You have to download from google play on another device such as your iPhone. However, after it working at first for me, it no longer detects my location and is useless.

Another user has mentioned that on iOS, only apps available to download on the watch will work properly as iPhone apps will not sync. No idea if this right. Can anyone confirm?

Mmmmm. Getting closer to a decision. Got my old Moto360 out just to check how easy it is to switch between Tizen on my Gear S3 and Android Wear on a watch. Answer - straightforward. The two can run together if you want and Watchmaker is as easy as switching watch version - seconds. I'm thinking Gear S3 for daytime and TAG for evenings/dress. Now if only there was a speaker on the TAG the S3 could go !

I imagine the speaker was ruled out in favor of increasing the water resistance. I also would have loved to have it; especially since my brother has one where he can answer phone calls and claims that is a big benefit.

Otherwise, attempting to pair the watch to a Bluetooth headset could potentially be a way to answer calls? Not sure if it will work, but it might be worth trying... If it doesn't, since the phone would have to be "in range", then the Bluetooth headset would be connected directly to the phone, and maybe then the answer option would show on the watch?

I got today a reply from TagH CS regarding: 1) When Tag connected for iOS will be available; 2)If Google map is supported by CM45 in iOS and 3) If we can reply to text message in iOS in future (pre-set answer).
Below the feedback, note answer 2 regarding google map. Cheers!

Hi all- some information from TAG Heuer that may be helpful. They note that the software will be updated on a regular basis in the coming months

Battery issue:

An update was released to fix the battery issue, please charge your watch overnight to automatically get this update. You can also download it manually by navigating to Settings > System > About > System update (Make sure your watch is paired to your phone and your phone is connected to Wi-Fi.)

To save battery you can turn-off the GPS when not necessary: navigate to Settings > Connectivity > Location. When off, your watch will use your phone’s GPS.

If you still have troubles, please
contact us. (https://www.tagheuer.com/en/tag-heuer-connected/contact-us)

Scratches:

Please note that there is a thin protection film on your TAG Heuer Modular 45mm’s screen. The scratches you have noticed may be on the film and not on the watch’s screen. Please remove the protection film.

If you still have troubles, please contact us. (https://www.tagheuer.com/en/tag-heuer-connected/contact-us)

Not Charging to 100%

For the moment, please use this workaround- software updates coming will fix: remove the cradle and plug it again to the watch it will “re-launch” the charging.

The answering on the watch is a real plus. I find myself using it with my Gear S3 all the time. It's so much easier than fumbling about for the phone in your pocket or if you've left the phone in another room in the house. I still think it looks pretty naff though so mostly switch to the phone after the early exchangs, particularly if I know it's gonna be a longer call.
A Bluetooth headset would work because it would be connected to the phone and could be connected to the watch. However that would mean wearing it constantly and although you could hear you still couldn't be heard (I think) . You can answer the phone with android watches but not talk (as far as I know) or hear the caller without a speaker.

On one of the previous posts, someone indicated that on the latest update the watch only shows the "hang-up/decline" option. Not sure if this will change, once a bluetooth headset is connected.

My watch battery was insanely good yesterday... did not charge accidentally last night, still 3% this AM!

Did a hard reset after the update, ADB on-- let watch run down to zero a few times, now I seem to be fine through the day no matter what, charging back to 100%

Update to that last post of mine.

Strava downloaded again from iPhone(google play) to the watch. Logged in on iPhone with watch gmail account. They have linked up nicely using the android wear app and is ready to go.

This also shows that apps downloaded outside the watchs' native App Store can work with iPhone. This is good news as more developers should update for this feature also.

Google maps location is now working. However, other than showing location and zooming in and out, I can't see what else it does. Looks like you might get navigation by using the "ok google"

Things are looking up 👍

Today first day with battery life on the level of my first generation connected: 11hours and still 51% left. Used it as always: many notifications, connected to iPhone, and of course: looking at the time 😀
I would get around 20hours now, thats absolutely ok for me. (charging every night, as with the first version)
