I'm running the watch with basically all factory set ups. Wifi, BT, NFC, GPS all on. Screen is set to 3 constant brightness rather than auto. I am running 2 screen interactive watch face in black - battery in one screen, steps in the other (as a side note steps is not particularly accurate - I managed to walk 180 steps in my sleep apparently!)
The biggest difference for my time I think is that although all the connectivity is on I am not using it as very little actually works apps wise with it. What I don't understand is that 2.0 is meant to be stand alone yet with iOS is still restricted even when downloading the apps directly. I.e. The issue I posted previously with maps being useless.
Youknow what is crazy, people can rant about this watch, tech being outdated so quick..but have you seen the value retention on the first gen connected, the resale price on the first gen on eBay is crazy good. People are selling for 1,000 USD.
While I believe your point is valid for some, I'm not interested in reselling mine, I'm interested in it working...
True, working is good! Yeah, there are lots of early adopter pains for sure, that TAG should have worked out the kinks of, guess I like the tinkering, but agreed, it should have been a smoother roll out.
Hey Guys, first time user in this Forum. Just wanted to say hi and that i love my tag 45 😀
I got the Black Ceramic with Gold Lugs. After 25 days waiting period it finally arrived and i love it so far.
i have been reading, and i think i need to do the "attery calibration" (Which i understand its simply letting it die and charge to 100 with no interruption).
Please correct me if i am wrong,.
thank you all.
Welcome! Glad to read you're enjoying your Modular. Yes, the battery calibration involves discharging until empty for a few consecutive cycles. People have said it is most effective to do this after the initial setup. I am still doing mine after last week's updates. I alternate between my old Connected and the new one. Both of them have shown roughly the same battery performance with Android Wear 2.0. The old Connected lasts a few hours more, since the sensors and the display don't tend to consume as much power. You can follow my benchmarks on this thread as well as the old one's.
Thank you.
Will do just that. will let it die and full charge for a few days. hopefully this will help.
so far i am loving it, and extremely happy with the wait to get the color i want. the gold lugs looks stunning on the black ceramic.
I do have a question, i am not sure of....
i turn off NFC to save battery, i wonder if when i launch the Androud Pay, will it automatically turn on NFC or do i first need to go to Settings --> connectivity --> NFC --> ON. and only then launch Android Pay...
on phone if i do just that AP will tell me NFC is turned off and ask me if i want to turn it on.
On Android Wear 2.0 it doesnt, and the app ope. Which then i am unsure of NFC is turned on or still off...
I also coudlnt fine a way to set a widget or a shortcut to toggle etc.
just wondering, so i can save battery when not using NFC.
Feel free to post a picture of two if you'd like, we'd love to see how it looks.
Most of us experimented with AndroidPay, but since it requires you to have a "Screen Lock", many (including me) don't use it. So I haven't really experimented with the NFC settings to be able to tell you. Therefore, be sure to post your findings as you may be the first to discover the behavior.
Sure thing, here are a few quick pictures i just took.
the Screen Lock works well with the sensors. when u have the watch on your wrist it does not prompt you for the lock pattern/pin/password. only when you take the watch off. so overall it is ok for me, i need to go to a terminal and test if it automatically turn on NFC or not, i am pretty sure it is not...
