Hey can anyone tell me how is the watch in the sun? I watched a few reviews about it and it says that it's very hard to tell the time in the sun. What are your thoughts? Thanks
The readability is great under all conditions in Northern Europe !

Awesome guys thanks. Can't wait already it's taking too long. The only thing that's pissing me off. They make a watch with all these options and they can't even make it available. Anyways I just have to be patient and hope they sort out all these software issues

I'm running the watch with basically all factory set ups. Wifi, BT, NFC, GPS all on. Screen is set to 3 constant brightness rather than auto. I am running 2 screen interactive watch face in black - battery in one screen, steps in the other (as a side note steps is not particularly accurate - I managed to walk 180 steps in my sleep apparently!)

The biggest difference for my time I think is that although all the connectivity is on I am not using it as very little actually works apps wise with it. What I don't understand is that 2.0 is meant to be stand alone yet with iOS is still restricted even when downloading the apps directly. I.e. The issue I posted previously with maps being useless.

Got mine on Friday. I held off buying the original as I thought I would let them work out the bugs. Like many, I am deeply invested in Apple hemisphere and it's too hard to give up IOS considering all my family and friends are iPhone,iPad and macbook users. That said the I-watch reminds me of the Casio calculator watch from circa 1980. I wanted something stylish yet would work the way the Apple watch works.
When they announced the modular and the apparent relationship between android wear 2 and IOS I was excited. Alas! A romantic notion.
I own a TAG link and my got has been an Omega. I ought this would be my daily.
The good;
- looks and feels like a TAG. Great build quality.
- very little lag inbetween screens
- watch faces are nice
- modular is also a very flexible and a well thought out concept.
The bad;
- setup instructions are minimal
- today most systems setup with the aid of a few questions and get you going quickly. I had to do a lot of online research to figure things out.
- does very little with IOS - only get messages if android wear app is running on phone.
- I don't receives texts consistently and I don't know why.
- no GPS maps
- wifi drops constantly. Actually shocking
- Bluetooth works intermittently.
- doesn't charge past 97% and with very little use drops 10% an hour.
- charger may be magnetic but need to be inspected when seated.
- not a show stopper but they should have embedded a speaker.
- also my daughter got a Garmin Vivo and it works out of the box with heart rate monitor and texts. It's was 20 times cheaper,

Not sure if mine is a lemon but just disappointed. Expected more the just looks for the price.

You know what is crazy, people can rant about this watch, tech being outdated so quick..but have you seen the value retention on the first gen connected, the resale price on the first gen on eBay is crazy good. People are selling for 1,000 USD.

I have to say, given the stated issues I see, not just here but across the net, I'm a little more than apprehensive to unbox mine. It sounds like the OS is not really optimized for the Tag's chipset. I don't want to be calibrating my battery for several days and dealing with the kind of early adopter-type issues I see being illustrated, at least, not for $1,800.00. I get tech, but I'm not a millennial. I've owned a Kirium Automatic and several other Swiss timepieces since the 90's, and my perception of owning a "Swiss Made" is that of precision. This Tag doesn't appear to be meeting that criteria... I hope my experience is not consistent with the problem cases I've seen described...

While I believe your point is valid for some, I'm not interested in reselling mine, I'm interested in it working...

True, working is good! Yeah, there are lots of early adopter pains for sure, that TAG should have worked out the kinks of, guess I like the tinkering, but agreed, it should have been a smoother roll out.

I'm with you on the tinkering! I just want to be tinkering with apps and customization, not making the battery last or other basic functions that should be no brainers OOB.

Yesterday I restored the watch because the battery was draining ( 40% in 4 hours)
Today ( without apps installed) I have a 4% by hour.
All this in iOS

Hey Guys, first time user in this Forum. Just wanted to say hi and that i love my tag 45 😀
I got the Black Ceramic with Gold Lugs. After 25 days waiting period it finally arrived and i love it so far.
i have been reading, and i think i need to do the "attery calibration" (Which i understand its simply letting it die and charge to 100 with no interruption).
Please correct me if i am wrong,.
thank you all.

Welcome! Glad to read you're enjoying your Modular. Yes, the battery calibration involves discharging until empty for a few consecutive cycles. People have said it is most effective to do this after the initial setup. I am still doing mine after last week's updates. I alternate between my old Connected and the new one. Both of them have shown roughly the same battery performance with Android Wear 2.0. The old Connected lasts a few hours more, since the sensors and the display don't tend to consume as much power. You can follow my benchmarks on this thread as well as the old one's.

Thank you.
Will do just that. will let it die and full charge for a few days. hopefully this will help.
so far i am loving it, and extremely happy with the wait to get the color i want. the gold lugs looks stunning on the black ceramic.

I do have a question, i am not sure of....
i turn off NFC to save battery, i wonder if when i launch the Androud Pay, will it automatically turn on NFC or do i first need to go to Settings --> connectivity --> NFC --> ON. and only then launch Android Pay...
on phone if i do just that AP will tell me NFC is turned off and ask me if i want to turn it on.
On Android Wear 2.0 it doesnt, and the app ope. Which then i am unsure of NFC is turned on or still off...

I also coudlnt fine a way to set a widget or a shortcut to toggle etc.
just wondering, so i can save battery when not using NFC.

Feel free to post a picture of two if you'd like, we'd love to see how it looks.

Most of us experimented with AndroidPay, but since it requires you to have a "Screen Lock", many (including me) don't use it. So I haven't really experimented with the NFC settings to be able to tell you. Therefore, be sure to post your findings as you may be the first to discover the behavior.

Sure thing, here are a few quick pictures i just took.
the Screen Lock works well with the sensors. when u have the watch on your wrist it does not prompt you for the lock pattern/pin/password. only when you take the watch off. so overall it is ok for me, i need to go to a terminal and test if it automatically turn on NFC or not, i am pretty sure it is not...

Looks great; glad to see you already have WatchMaker installed!
I may have to test AndroidPay again. They may have added some heuristics on the latest update to make it "smarter".
