Haha. Just found the second layer of plastic. Screen much better with that gone. Now this watch says the software is up to date but I don't have the Heuer01 face. How do you get it?
I don't have that watch face either. 🙁

What second layer of plastic? Are there two layers?

Yeah. Have a little dig at the side with your nail. It isn't obvious.

How are your sapphire crystals holding up? Do you see any scratch marks?

Looking spotless after a decade of near daily wear 😀 if it's marked there's something wrong!

I don't think I have one. I already removed the clear protector layer that covered the entire screen, where the color-coded quality control stickers sat on top of it.

Did yours have a second one that covered the entire screen?

Yeah. A perfectly sized one that I wouldn't of known of

100 % correct, took me by surprise, only noticed because of a couple of air bubbles, and quite difficult to dislodge! Wonder how many people are walking around with it still on!

Well, mine had the 2nd clear protective plastic as well. That explains why my screen was showing "scratch marks". Well spotted @dc42

Well mines being swapped in the TH boutique tomorrow. They confirmed I should get 25 hrs without needing to switch stuff off. 8 hours with screen and wifi off is a problem
Tried mine today with WiFi off, brightness on automatic, but screen always on and NFC on: charged to 100%:
With no use other than being worn and receiving notifications, it's gone down from 100 to 57‰ in two and a half hours, not good.

Did you return yours to place of purchase or did you buy it elsewhere but returned it to TH boutique? I bought mine online and am hoping I can sort out at nearest TH boutique.

Love the watch, had the first version, so want a replacement not a refund.

Just as another data point, I'm still on my first run through of the battery. I took it off charger yesterday at 8am, it's now at 28 hours with 18% left. That's with turning off the screen while I was asleep. (Lost 10% overnight even with screen off) So, IMHO, 30 hours is somewhat accurate but that's with light use.

Check that all your apps have been updated (check in the Play Store app on the phone) and do a restart afterwards. And I'm not sure if it makes a difference but I'm using an Android phone.

Thanks, I'm using Android phone, I did a fresh reset and install this morning and then updated everything. Settings are pretty much same as Connected 1 I have, so am surprised it's gone down so fast.

Replaced at the TH store I got it from. Second watch is going to get me about 14 hrs on day one.

The US Tag website has instructions on it. Says to discharge and fully charge the watch overnight a few times at first to fully charge the battery. Will see.

Hmm, mines running at about 17% reduction in battery every hour with minimal use, I have charged as described above a couple of times already, will do so over the weekend, but not convinced, as you say we'll see...

That's what mine did. Could be either a widespread battery issue or a software problem that keeps the battery busy.

My money is on a software process. That is the common cause when phones start consuming "excessive" battery.

Hope so because that's an easy fix.
