Get bored, stumble upon an under-attended auction, end up with a couple Seamasters. You know, as one does.

Cue ‘GoldenEye’ by Tina Turner, for this perfect 2531.80:

Congrats! I've been thinking of getting one of those for a while now.

However, technically that's not the GoldenEye. Which is reference 2541.80 with a quartz movement, and I know you don't like quartz.

Starting with Tomorrow Never Dies and on, Brosnan switched to the mechanical 2531.80.

Congrats, @abrod520! What else did you get?

I have been on a Seamaster roll lately I guess, I had traded my Aquastar chrono for a 2298 (titanium chrono).

And this one came along with an older brother! Should be in WRUW today 😁

Oh interesting. I knew there was a quartz version but didn't know that was the choice for GoldenEye versus the later ones.

I think this one's probably just passing through for me (I also recently picked up a chrono version which I think I'll keep instead) so shoot me a PM if you might want this one 😎
Alternatively I was thinking it might look cool on an aftermarket mesh bracelet, kind of like a 'budget Bond 60th' that is also more authentic!

At £2000 I am kinda tempted
Go for it (great watch and these Breitling rubber straps are really comfy) 👍

Let’s say it wears true to size (42?) but is rather light on the wrist because it is pretty slender.

Well this is all well and good, but that would mean my collection was 3.26% not TAG. 😒

Thought a possible interesting topic (idea shameful copied from The Grey Nato podcast).

3 price brackets - sub £1k, sub £5k & sub £10k.

New or pre owned (if preowned have an example).

Here’s the catch, can’t be something in your current collection or owned previously.

What watches you choosing?

Mine:

Sub £1k - Seiko SPB143 - online currently in the BF sales a £950ish.

Other contenders Oris 65 Arabic numerals Chrono24 has one at £900. Older Tag Aquaracer WAN2110 - Chrono24 has one for £850

Sub £5k - Omega Seamaster 300m Professional Green on the rubber strap. One I’m toying with to buy in the future - eBay has a few at £4,300

Other contenders Tudor Pelagos 39mm, Tudor BB36 Light champagne another one currently on my hit list.

Sub £10k - Rolex Sub ND, obviously I’m this scenario at RRP and available. But a 16040m 2 liner can be had.

Other contenders GO Panomatic Lunar a grail watch of mine & potential end game, also just sneaks in under £10k. But not ideal for a 1 watch.

So what’s everyone else’s picks?

Can't have owned it previously makes it difficult, so...

Sub £1000 - TAG Heuer Titanium Chrono (pre-owned)
Sub £5000 - TAG Heuer Monaco Calibre 12 (pre-owned)
Sib £10000 - TAG Heuer Carrera Tourbillon (pre-owned)

even on the ‘other brand’ still choosing Tag? No preowned Chopard under £10k?
