That Avenger looks cool, fair play, on that fabric strap. Sounds like you’ve got a nice 3 piece rotation going on.

I hear you on the love hate thing. I popped into my local AD today, as a break from the Comic Con I went to with my Son. Looked at the SuperOcean Heritage again and don’t feel as fussed as I once was.

I tried on a Planet Ocean with White dial and Orange bezel, which was on my list before buying the Orange Aquaracer. Felt lovely on, despite the size and heft. Wasn’t fussed on the space between the case and the bezel when looking side on though.

I then tried on the MoonWatch, as it was sitting next to the PO. Never paid these much attention, due to the Hype and not being hugely into vintage. I have to say that they are growing on me now (sorry Rob). New bracelet looks lovely, but the fabric strap was surprisingly very nice too!

If I’m honest, part of me regrets returning the Moonwatch, should’ve gave it more time & look to upgrade later on the microadjustment claps.

I’m sure I’ll get one again

The micro adjustment was pretty cool but it literally is only one adjustment position according to the sales lady. Liked the bracelet though, with small links. I reckon most people would get it fitted nicely and a single adjustment would be enough for most too.

The fabric strap felt great too. I had it on the smallest hole on my 7.5” wrist. I was told there is a smaller version available though.

Let’s be honest though, this is a solid long term piece rather than instant bling. I think it needs time to appreciate it fully. I never really paid it any attention when I got the Seamaster but, checking it out without the pressure of looking to buy, it has grown on me in a subtle manner.

Perhaps the negatives that led you to play musical chairs in returning each watch wasn't the real issue. But rather, only being able to afford one when you really wanted all three. 😉

I think that really is the crux of the situation right there. Each one lacking because it wasn’t the others, as they were all iconic in their own right.

Oddly on the bracelet I couldn't get a good fit, slightly too tight to too loose and that was taking a link in or out, the tight fit (which i prefer over too loose was in the winter and i just about got my wrist through the bracelet). Visually I found the taper too much, made the head of the watch seem large

Each had their own pro's & cons. But it was the lust of the Monaco more that won.

Saying that now having owned it for a few months, some of the cons are now higher, & it makes me think what i really want in my core 3 watch collection.

Money no object I'll have 2 of the 3, but would be annoying having 2 chronos

Indeed they were great, but I now realise whilst I love the face on, style & look of the Monaco, dates aren't my thing and I could do with a 12hr register. Also side on I notice how slab sided it is. But again that face!

Interesting to hear actual experience, as I was just going on what appeared to me at face value, as not resized it at all. Basically the opposite of my thoughts.

Could’ve just been me. As everyone I’ve spoken to loves the bracelet and fit. Think the new push micro adjustment would’ve worked a treat for me though.

Separately much like the Monaco C11, current RRP of the Speedy is very high. Least the Speedy is a manufactured in house movement.

RRP of everything is now nuts tbh.

I really enjoy browsing at the moment, but nothing is strong enough for the money to me presently. Perhaps just feeling a sense of satisfaction with my two. Who knows.

Very true and even in the current climate. I cannot see the bubble bursting. Crazy to think what some of these watches will be priced at next year.

I’ve one I want to see, but expect it to be a birthday watch next year.

Other than that nothing apart from a Speedy if I could ever afford one again.

Part of me does toy with an Aquaracer of some sort. But unsure.

No watch will be perfect. Just focus on the positives and enjoy that face! 😁

I always fancied an Aquaracer and owning one proved to me why. They’re great. No question about it.

Agree on next years pricing, which is what I think is fuelling the demand.

I will be upsetting Rob too. Far from a vintage fan, but I do like the pistachio dial in fairness. Very different from the everyday choices.

And you call yourself a member of the Pistachio Boyz 😲 watch out for the founder, he might ban you if you keep this up

I thought the group would be interested in this pic. An homage to the great Monaco. Since I own a Monaco and this popped up on eBay on the cheap, I had to buy it. I didn't expect much but it's not a badly made watch. Never heard of the brand.
