I like a number in the Tudor range, but the link to Rolex stops me as I really detest the way they artificially keep stock in low supply.

I get that it’s sound business sense, from keeping the desire, but still annoying.

The real issue is that there are more Tudor’s that I like than Rolex ironically.

Absolutely. I would never buy a modern Rolex (and even vintage ones are far too expensive for what you get IMO)

But Tudor doesn't play those games. They even stood up a pop-up shop in Geneva this week near W+W to ensure their new models were available to people who wanted to buy.
Tudor >>>>>>>>>> Rolex almost to the point that they're a completely different company

I tried this on today, it’s fantastic on the wrist. Feels very vintage, like an old sub I will never get to touch. I probably won’t be trading in my bb58, but if I didn’t own it already, I’d buy the 54.
This is the highlight from Watches and Wonders for me.

I hear you. I just meant that the Rolex heads think people buy Tudor as they are not able to buy a Rolex for any number of reasons. The reality is most buy because they actually prefer them!

The only Rolex I like is the Polar Explorer II, which is ironic as that’s one of the least popular models for most of their fans. I agree though, I would actually buy one.

You really should try one on, I was thinking as I tried it ‘they made this watch for Charlie’

I agree about Rolex, but Tudor don’t really play those games. Talking to the guys in the Tudor boutique, they said that everything in store is for sale except the 54 because they only just got it in and want people to have a chance to try it on before they put their names down for one. So I could have walked out with any of last years black bays, a bb pro or a black dial chrono. He said that there’s still a wait list on the Pelagos 39, which is about 2 months, and the white dial chronos sell out quickly, but I could have one in a month or two.

looking online, I could have a pelagos 39, pro, black chrono, or various others delivered tomorrow, with only the ceramic and white chrono harder to get:

Real watch heads know someone with a Tudor is about twice as likely to be a watch enthusiast though rather than someone hoping to flash some wealth 😉

I really want to view the new bb36 range, the updates are what I’ve been wanting

I respect Tudor, but I don't really like anything they make except the Pelagos 42mm

BB54 is also the release of W&W for me. Plenty of other interesting watches but nothing compelling at sub 10k.
3800 euro over here, pretty amazing when you look at the competition. Same price as the new BB36 also, which I think is overpriced now.
Will def be checking that out when it lands at my AD. Might be a tad small for me but let's wait and see.

My favourite too, but would like a more punchy blue ideally.

Haven't tried it on yet, but feel the same way based on what I've seen.

About as close as an average Joe can get to replicating the vintage feel of ref. 6538 (aka the James Bond Submariner).
Yes, I had the same thought. It has great proportions and it doesn't look bloated at all.

Next year will be the 70th anniversary of the Tudor Submariner. Brittany has a good point about wondering why did Tudor release the BB54 this year and not next, perhaps an even cooler color is coming.

I think next year they'll release the BB51... In 34mm. And it'll break the internet because there's going to be black and blue versions AT ONCE 😲

😉

Saw this on sale online at Ernest Jones. Big fan of the Defy but sadly they only have the 36mm ladies, I mean unisex, ones in the sale.

This one actually looks cool, but not for me. They also have the Carbon version with full carbon bracelet but sadly, even with the excellent discount, it’s still well outside my price range.

Grand Seiko has finally released their first automatic chronograph. GS Tentagraph SLGC001 Chronograph. 72 hour power reserve. 43mm titanium case with fixed ceramic tachymeter bezel 😉

Very modern Carrera-ish IMO 😗

I long thought GS would not make automatic chronographs. Guess times have changed. But the similarities between the two is unreal 😉

I think it looks great, but dimensions are too much for me.
I think so too. But with the price of this, I’d put mine into the TAG Heuer Carrera. Especially date at 6 for me. But it’s only me 👍
