Tourbillons are as expensive as they are (for a real one) because of just how intricate and delicate they are. Servicing even a mass-produced one is going to be a frightful time investment for the watchmaker, and most would probably just outright refuse it. Anyone who accepted the work would be charging a shit-ton of money for it, potentially doubling your cost of the watch itself.

oh right, I appreciate the information as that’s. It something I’d even thought of if I’m honest. I think that pretty much rules out me buying one then

D danwel
It can be had for £153 with the welcome discount as I’ve just ordered one lol
Congrats! 👍
Yeah I saw the discount, been thinking about the Q Chrono for a while. Please share some pics and your impressions when you get it.

Thanks, I’ll let you know how I get on. I really like it in the pictures and the 15% and free delivery sealed the deal for me lol.

I quite like the relatively “inexpensive” watches and being able to chop and change. I wore my Casio Rubics cube the other day and it’s a decent little watch to be honest. Although my 10 year old has already claimed it lol

So received an email CW just launched the bel canto in green also, for those who missed out on the blue. Also a 300 piece LE.

Also sold out already

That's a beautiful shade of green they’ve chosen 👍

For those of you who wanted something a little closer to the 2446C, this:

Finally Movado is figuring out how awesome their history is. Unfortunately they're TAGging it - this one is 43mm and $4k when it should have been 39 or 40mm and $2.5k 🙁

https://www.movado.com/us/en/shop-watches/movado-alta-super-sub-sea-automatic-3650160.html
The 43mm don’t look too scary one the wrist (looks like a short L2L):

However, I thinks it's a silly asking price for a watch from a brand with such a weak image nowadays…

EDIT: Could that be 43mm INCL. crown? 😕

EDIT #2: How is it $4k when it is sold at 3.5k in EU (i.e., with a high VAT included)? And there’s also a 10% ”First time order/Newsletter subscription” promo code readily available.

I don't think they'd measure it including crown. I totally agree that Movado is not currently in a position to ask $4k for their watches though, which is why this is so disappointing.

It's probably more expensive in the US because Movado may have a better market position here? They're well known among the fashion-watch set.

I'm sure they'll be discounted by ADs, and eventually sold at steep discounts when they find they can't sell them at such high prices, so maybe I'll have a look then once I can find out how thick it is (I expect it will be very thicccc)

Gave the Lambda a spruce-up - may keep it as-is or get it polished and plated at a later date.

Looks a lot better, however!

I measured it on screen and quickly did the math: If it's 43mm in DM excl. crown, then lugtip-to-lugtip should be just shy of 49mm. So there’s no way that the above wristshot is anything but a bad photomontage…

Could be. I guess us Europeans - with our hefty VATs - are just not used to seeing things play out that way 😉

Yupp - wait and see. At a good price this could be an attractive proposition. Especially since the caliber should be a trusty Sellita SW510 (see seal in the photo on the website and the 62h of PR mentioned).

The guy could have a very large wrist.

So my favourite Dutch denim brand Denham is soon launching a Timex collab. I quite like it

It's cute, but reminds me of the Carrera Drive Timer in a big way

Beware though: 21mm lug width. So you’re pretty much stuck with the BOR. Or a black Tropic from Aquastar themselves…
