No Heart Rate and Step Count Inaccuracies (E4 45MM)

Hi All, I've recently acquired a TAG Connected E4 (45MM) watch, and notice some peculiar behaviour.

There are two issues I'm seeing:
1. The watch isn't detecting my heart rate (I had it work once, when I kicked off a walking session, and that was it). When I go to the Wellness App, its just shows --. I've restarted to watch multiple times, but to no luck. Any I missing something? I don't have any tattoos, or dark skin (as noted in some other forums)
2. The step count is hit and miss. I tested walking about 300 steps, and it picked up around 160. Not sure why the count is so off... if I compare it to my $300 Garmin, this picks up steps quite accurately

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is a quality watch, and I'd love to have all the bits and pieces working.

Thanks,

Con

Have you authorised all the sensors to work?
It always asks this when starting out.

Hey Anthony, yes, just double checked (in case something changed). 馃榾

I went via Settings > Apps & Notifications > App Permissions >Sensors and confirmed TAG Heuer Wellness has permissions

One think I did notice is that the heart monitor 'lights' don't come on, on the underside of the watch. I was able to get them working last night, no idea how, and now its not working again.

I would try a full reset. Go through the whole process and when you ser a watch face try touching the heart rate icon in the dial. The first time you do that it takes you to the authorisation process for that sensor. Good luck

My E4 did that a couple of months after purchase to the point where it stopped measuring those stats at all. I sent it to Tag and they diagnosed it, and replaced the entire head unit. No probs since.... hope you get yours sorted.

Thanks Teetee. After contacting TAG, they have advised the same. Bring it, get it check, and go from there...

Hey Anthony, I've gone through that twice now; no change. The heartbeat monitor works for a few minutes, and then stops working.

I would now send a Bug report to TAG Heuer. Go to the Connected app and look for the Bug Report option. See what they come back with.
