What a tease. Lol. With 320 parts and 39 jewels it’s quite complex to build in this price range.
The Heuer 02 for example has 240 parts I believe.

Heuer01 is more sophisticated also, less noisy rotor sound

And I wonder why they are discontinuing the Heuer01? Nice to have a 12-9-6 layout together with a 3-6-9 from the Heuer02.

I guess the 369 layout is more popular, but not with me.

I thought I read a while back that I t’s because they want to focus on a truly in-house movement, where as the 01s roots aren’t?

Yes it might be more “popular” but it’s good to have options right ? And I can’t see anything wrong with the quality, build and package of this movement.

The Calibre 1887 is the reason why I went all out TAG Heuer back then :) After owning my first two THs (Aquaracer & Formula 1)

The Heuer02 is nice sir. Definitely is, I own several, but it doesn’t make me think less of my Calibre1887 ~> Heuer01 ;)

Probably the Heuer02 layout resembles the older layout of the vintage/classic Heuers. And The Heuer01 design is more of like the ETA/Valjoux7750 - Calibre16 designs. TH doesn’t want to ditch the Calibre16 for the Heuer01 for more profit I guess ::confused2::

Well yes I assume the cal 16 will remain as an option for those who want the 6, 9, 12 layout

Yes I agree sir Jim, it remains an option. So TAG Heuer needed to choose between Calibre 16 vs the Heuer 01..

Absolutely agree, I have both movements myself. I meant they’ve ended the 01/1887/Seiko because of its difficult identity crisis that it’s suffered since birth. Makes no odds to me.

So I visited the new store this evening and it is very swish and up to date. It is slightly smaller, but they tell me that they can actually get more watches out on display, so that's good. While I was there I picked up a couple of straps, a black one for my SEL CG1110 and this beauty!
