Not posted for a little while but received my Autavia today.

I managed 16% off UK retail so happy with that.

The strap is a little short for my large wrists but it works. I've asked my AD to order me a metal bracelet too.

Cheers,

Simon
Congrats; yes that strap is way too small for you. Hopefully the bracelet will be a better fit.

I wonder if Tag can provide a longer leather strap?

There's plenty of custom strap makers out there who will make you a better quality strap to your specification for less money.

Any recommendations please?

I'd want to keep the same style as the original😀

Pictures show fine craftsmanship!
he did a unique ostrich strap for my old coke gmt a few years ago - took the time to ask all right questions to get it just right - very substantial straps and big buckles as far as thickness and quality - might be able to use original clasps / buckle too

My authorised dealer has informed me that the bracelets won't be available until the end of the year 🙁

Anyone in the know / with contacts able to confirm this please?

Thanks,

Simon

Glad that I purchased it with the bracelet then. I'll let you know if I hear otherwise.

I can vouch for Aaron at combat straps; most the custom straps you see on my watches are made by him.

Now this is in people's hands, what's the general opinion of the new autavia? I still look at the photos and think the bezel is out of proportion to the watch, it looks like a bezel from a 1000 series, but I know how pictures online can be very misleading. How does it look on the wrist?

The apparently over-sized bezel was my issue with this watch (aside from the fact that the Autavia has never really floated my boat) but in the metal it looks really good and wears well, IMO.

I'm not an owner but had a good try on in my local boutique.

It's much better in the metal. I prefer it with the bracelet as I think it compensates for the different dimensions more than with the strap. In the ind, you should find one at a dealer and go try it on.

Just got to try this at last. Sat on the wrist like a carrera but that bracelet is something else. Feels like another level.

They told me the JH edition will hit the shops in December and the run is limited to 1932 pieces.

I think the smaller numbers on the JH85 bezel help give the impression of a smaller bezel

I saw the Autavia (and lots of other stuff) today in Selfridges on Oxford Street. Why is everyone whinging about the size it doesn't look that big at all!

Its "normal" size for modern watch. People are complaining mostly due to comparison of the vintage Autavia.
