Great article, thanks @Calibre11

It doesn't help with my 'got too many aquaracers already' issue 😀

Thanks for the article. It makes my 2004 Aquaracer Quartz great again!!
Your post would be perfect if it had pictures of this great quartz Aquaracer of yours ::psy::

Thank you for the heads up! The Aquaracer is a great line and your article is very thorough and interesting.
I also found the link to the TH 2000 very useful. I have one from 1994/1995 but I wasn't sure of the exact model or line. Now I know exactly its history, generation, movement, etc. Thanks! ::psy::

Great article - thank you for taking the time to put it together.

I am a big fan of the Aquaracers - highly underrated as watches in general and as you’ve said often overlooked from a prestige point of view in TH heritage.

Personally, the 2000 was the watch that started my passion for all things Tag Heuer and Heuer.

The Aquaracer is currently „not at home“ due to a battery change. Pictures from the harddisk.
It is probably not the crown of watchmaking, but a perfect daily beater. I Never regretted the purchase.

Awesome! Quartz makes so much sense in a watch like that 😀 I would not mind picking up a blue one if I come across it

Thanks for the feedback on this one...enjoyed writing it.

As I keep banging on about, I think TH are missing a trick by not having a top-end "halo" model for the Aquaracer (call it Aquagraph maybe) with an in-house chronograph movement. Maybe one day

The dream of having Aquaracer with Heuer02 movement is what's keeping me from purchasing calibre16 Aquaracer at this moment (that and tug-of-war of the discount).

Too bad i also have sold my calibre5 ceramic Aquaracer

I am now Aquaracer-less

🙁

Definitely a great line of product for Tag Heuer.

Wouldn't mind owning one again if the price is right.

I do feel the latest calibre5 with carbon release is crazily priced. But design wise it's really an attractive watch.

I'm not sure that a Heuer 02 Aquaracer will happen any time soon. I suggested it in an interview with JC Biver who was not that enthused!

Today the Aquaracer has returned from service. Time to have a look at the IMHO beautiful caseback.

Is not the Aquaracer somewhat towards the ‘budget’ end of thr TH range and the 02 considered the pinaclenof their movements? Could that be the reason, or more one of watch purpose and implementation challenges?

Beautiful indeed! Glad that it is back, enjoy the renewed honeymoon

Too bad that Tag has taken the same direction as many other brands, simpler and cheaper details (like casebacks) but increased prices. The current 2500-3000 dollar Aquaracers should have casebacks on this level

It seems like the Aquaracer has certainly moved towards the lower end, there used to be some Aquaracers that were £4000, like the Calibre 16 models in PVD and lime green. I can't imagine them putting the Heuer 02 in an Aquaracer to be honest, and I think it would be better to put the Heuer 01 in there - Aquaracer with a 3,6,9 layout would look weird!

If I remember it right, Mr. Biver somewhere said, that divers with chronographs are a kind of nonsense. Maybe this would be another reason not to expect an H02 Aquaracer ...
But on the other hand a lot of brands do them: Omega , Ulysse Nardin, even Patek on the Nautilus (did somebody ever really use a Nautilus for diving?)...

Yes but Mr Biver is famous for listening. So if he says divers with chronos are nonsense and the feedback he gets counteracts his view, he will change his view. Besides as an owner of an Aquagraph, I strongly disagree!
