I love seeing those first three in the flesh together like that!! I love the red one... still my favourite I think!

The red burns like fire. So much depth to that beautiful dial!

Just saw it in real life and I like this one. Not as wild as the first 3, but well done in my opinion. I don’t know why but it looked small in person.

Compared to the Bamford in this pic, although the watches are the same size, it does look smaller. I think the thick white circle provides a kind of optical illusion that pulls in the size to the mind's eye.

This one definitely continues to grow on me. I've changed my mind to where I'd probably buy 4 over 1 and perhaps over the hourglass40 (not sure though, tough call: 00s vs HG40). I still think 1 is cool too. It's just my taste in colors, don't care for green watches much.

The 70s Montreal ring does it for me. I just think it’s cool. Feels very Heuer IMO.

Who let the chap in the middle out of the house dressed like that? I hope he has no influence in any design!

Strange, at first look it is white/gold but after I had posted and come back to page it was blue/black.

I have not altered the pic. Just illustrating how our optics can see things differently. BTW, this pic went viral in 2015 and there was a great debate on whether it's white & gold or blue & black. The actual dress is in fact blue & black.

Yeah, I've seen it before, although I am confused how I can see it two different ways... does everyone see it different ways at different times? I thought some people saw it one way and some saw it a different way. Does this mean I'm on some kind of spectrum?

I think it has something to do with the lighting and contrast, as well as the individual. I usually see it as white & gold, but there are a few times when it looks blue & black to me. For some people, it might always look one way or the other.

You also seem to pick up more on purple, where for me it comes across as blue.

Some shots of the Monaco 50's present at the Tokyo launch event.

Are there any Monaco 50's pieces for sale (anywhere) or have they all been snapped up?

For the most part, they're sold out. Needed to have a full deposit down at most TH Boutiques in order to have secured one in advance. But some people have gotten lucky from time to time (I was). So with enough persistence, you might be able to find one at a TH Boutique or via the TH website - which will say "sold out" but could suddenly change to "add to cart".

They are for sale in the aftermarket. I noticed there's a 00's Monaco 50 that was just put up on Chrono24 for example. But these are all asking for quite a premium over the retail price.

Check the Japanese website, still available there for 761,400 Yen.
A few days later and it's still showing as available on the TH Japan website. Out of stock just about everywhere else.

This just adds to my feeling that the Monaco isn't as popular there for whatever reason. Anybody who wants this watch, go to Japan.
