So this is your way of recognizing that you were wrong (when you claimed that the Connected was not from the Carrera family): silencing who demonstrates you - with obvious evidence - that you were wrong. All very democratic

I was just answering your - false - statements, and your questions. You are so free to attack the Connected as vehemently as I do to defend it. The difference is that I have the brand of my side ... until you become the new TAG Heuer CEO, of course! 😁

This is the last thing I am going to say.

I have only expressed my opinion about the Connected. Re-read what I have written and you will see that. My opinion is my opinion. It may, and in this case does, differ from yours. That's called freedom of speech.

The fact I stated about the Carrera book not being proof read is indeed a fact. I believe I pointed out the specifics on the thread about the book. That fact is not contestable. There are some glaring factual errors along with amateur typographical and formatting errors.

Yes, the Carrera book has not been proof read, but 69 full pages (from 280 pages) and the cover of the most official Carrera book talking about the Connected are not “typographical and formatting” errors! Come on! 69 full pages only for the Connected, and the biggest picture on the cover!!

But the most incontestable fact is the Official TAG Heuer Press release about the TAG Heuer Connected 45:

Albert, I think the problem is that the Connected looks a lot like the 'mutant' Carrera, which Mr Orange also disputes is a Carrera. The question is perhaps, is the Monaco 24 actually a Monaco, is the new Autavia actually an Autavia?

Both these cars are Ferrari Testa Rossas, purists probably hate the later one but it is an indisputable fact that it 'is' designated a Testa Rossa by Ferrari.

Yes, I see your point 👍 Although in fact the real name for the ‘58 model is “Testa Rossa”, and the ‘84 model is “Testarossa” 😉

But we are talking about watches from the same time. I see it more like: there are Mercedes-Benz B-Class with petrol engines (B 180, B 200, B 250), and there’s a B-Class fully electrical with batteries (B 250 e). They have very different technologies, but they are all from the same B-Class family... It’s an indisputable fact even when you don’t like fully electrical cars and you only like the B-Class with petrol engines. Mercedes-Benz decided that way, and for sure it’s not a mistake because the car was not proof read 😉

In the case of the TAG Heuer Connected Modular, you can even remove the electrical engine (smartwatch module) and install different petrol engines of the same Carrera family (mechanical modules Cal.5, Cal.16, Heuer 02T) whenever you want 😉, something we can’t do with the B-Class 🤔

Actually the second one is a Testarossa, while the first one is a 250 Testa Rossa 😉

(And it is starting to become desirable as a throwback - though obviously will never achieve the status of the 250)

Back on topic, I was able to get one of these buttons to help celebrate the 50th with my watch. 😁
Now I'm on the hunt for the coaster! ::psy::

Some goodies from the NYC event. Hope some of this stuff finds its way to ebay. 😀

Were there any similar promo items for the other anniversary watches? The 90's edition launch seemed to be the most well organised so far.

Were there any similar promo items for the other anniversary watches? The 90's edition launch seemed to be the most well organised so far.

From what I can tell, only the 3rd watch had a specific item matching the watch's theme, such as the video game motif shown below.

However, the other two watches had items with Monaco 50 logos. Albeit using the blue, red and grey-silver colors that just happens to match the 3rd watch. I haven't noticed any specific Monaco 50 "Red" or "Green/Brown" items.

These are from the 2nd watch's dinner event during the Le Mans weekend:

And these are from the 1st watch's launch at the Monaco Grand Prix:

I've added the coaster to my mini collection of Monaco 50 accessories. For now, I feel my "box set" is complete. 😀
