I took these photos for the Monaco 50th book contest, but thought some should go here in the '90s thread. 馃槈
This is my original Game Boy which is nearly 30 years old. It has unfortunately yellowed a bit, but the original grey color is fairly close to the shade of grey used in the dial.

Bonus points for the Mario Kart.

Thank you. Yup, good memories for me too. I can still hear the Tetris music playing in my head like it was yesterday and I spent countless hours playing Mario Kart with my son (the toy is his, not mine. LOL).

You and @Hubert seem to think a like. Hopefully that wine you left at the Ginza TH Boutique will pay off for you. Your red one is a keeper for sure.

On a side note, I just pulled my Monaco Gulf Grey's box (circa 2010) to have a re-look at the box. It has a nice soft touch vinyl-like finish on the box. However, it has a small section that looks a little worn. Odd, as that box has been in storage for close to 8-9 years and never touched until now! I suppose it's due to age, heat & humidity. Some of my older TAG boxes (actually these were round containers) from the '90s with soft touch finishes have deteriorated even worse, as the finish is peeling off.

So on the plus side, my hunch (hope) is that the Monaco 50's box might stand the test of time better when compared to the leatherette or soft touch type of finishes used on some of TAG's other boxes. Still, a wooden box like the 50th's 1 of 50 box set or the 40th anniversary's box would have been more fitting for these individual Monaco 50's.
I like the new boxes. I think they will be more survivable, yet also more recyclable. My faux leather box from 10 years ago looks good, but if I rub at it the material starts to come away. The PU 'leather' must be perished - atmospheric oxidation? An older plastic flip top Tag box I have had a rubberised top which has turned to a sticky goo - all by itself - gross! But I agree that the Monaco 50s were special enough to deserve a wooden box.

Yeah, my wife's Aquaracer box turned sticky as well - not pleasant!

It's not meant to be a substitute for the real Monaco 89-99, of course! It鈥檚 just a Connected tribute to this one, made by the best artist: Gavril Tardi 馃憤

You do realise you are going to a special 'watch' hell where Mr Breguet will task you with designing and building your own tourbillon using only Origami paper and while wearing boxing gloves; meanwhile Mr Biver stands right next to you shouting enthusiastic encouragement in your ear while Steve Jobs sticks a pitchfork up your bottom. Forever.馃槈

I like it! Of course it鈥檚 not the real thing but it still looks good and people should be able to enjoy the design. Well done to whoever put that together same as the red one from a while back

It's not even a tribute, it's an affront to the Monaco and I renew my request to banish all Connected photos to their own thread, where they belong.

I had a lot of different dials on my TH Connected, originals and tributes made with the watchmaker App. Some of them are looking really good. But I can assure you, that no digital watchface compares to the originals in terms of variety caused by light-reflections, depth, authenticity and other factors, which can not be simulated by virtual dials on a miniscreen.
The smartwatches and the classical watches should be viewed as complementary, each with it's own strengths and weak spots!

Bit harsh, but I do wish I didn't have to look at the same/similar Connected pictures in multiple threads.
