A couple of comments:

I thought the base Seiko movement used for the 1887 was the 6S37?

There's a typo in the 6th para - TGA instead of TAG.

Thanks- typo zapped.

From what I gather, the origin movement is the 6S78. From this movement, several variants were made, including the 6S37.

SII (Seiko Instruments Inc.) is a seperate division that sell movements to third parties. They call the movement the SII TC78...but it's the same thing.
