I feel like the autavia line has been a bit neglected. Considering it was on the wrist of so many icons of motorsport and tag now being the title sponsor of formula one, it needs its time back in the spotlight.
So here’s my take on the model.
Essentially it’s early 2446 rindt case with the dials from the later c case. So villeneuve, suffirt, viceroy etc.
Use the TH20 from the glass box to keep the thickness down. Maybe 40mm with a lug to lug of 48mm and some bushed accents on the case to give it a modern touch.
I don’t want any royalties tag but maybe a free sample 😂

What do you all think?

What you're describing sounds like a second attempt at the 2017 Heritage Heuer Autavia 'Rindt" reissue and the various LEs that followed, Viceroy, Siffert, Orangeboy etc.

I would be all for it if TAG Heuer can get the proportions closer to the '60s original. While I liked the 2017+ reissues, I could not pull the trigger because they were simply too thick, and the proportions looked off.

Exactly, you and me both.
The 2017 reissues were just too chuncky plus the fully polished case made it look very blingy. And there was definitely something off with the thickness of the bezel.
I also didn’t agree with making the siffert viceroy and other dials LE.
