New 41 owner saying hello and disappointed with short strap!

Hi all,

Just saying hello as a new owner and very pleased to have found this forum. Already picking up lots of great info and understanding the capabilities of my new watch.

But major disappointment when it arrived on Friday and I tried it on. As mentioned elsewhere, the strap is ridiculously short. I don't have massive wrists (20cm circumference) and the strap is barely long enough. Tight fit on the 1st hole 馃檨. Over the weekend I contacted Tag directly in UK and also the retailer CW Sellors. Sellors got straight back to me today and said they would sort it out, so full credit to their customer service. But they have asked me not to use the existing strap as they will need it back unused. Fair enough so long as it doesn't take too long. Meantime I can at least get to know the watch. Right now it is downloading an update, although this seems to be taking some time.

Tag also responded today saying they had passed my complaint to their Connected specialist. Still waiting to hear from him.

I am sure I will have many more questions as I get to know the watch and hopefully I can provide answers as I become more knowledgeable.

I suffer the same problem with the latest non deployment straps.

I bought a genuine long length Autavia leather strap from TH via my AD. 拢110 or thereabouts.

I contacted Tag and they just said the bigger straps are available to purchase 馃檨, not very good customer support.

The key is try before you buy & negotiate that into the deal.

The 41 is a unisex model that comes with two different strap lengths; shorter for women and longer for men. The longer strap should fit you. Question is why didn't you try it first? It's not TAG Heuer's fault if you don't try first. Even if you ordered online, the accessories section states clearly that there are two strap lengths available.

Hi Feanor, I didn't try one first because we live in a rural area and it would have meant a 1 hour journey into Leeds. I wrongly assumed that a 41cm watch would have a strap long enough for your average male. It seems from other posts here and elsewhere on t'internet that I am not alone. Anyway, I have an acceptable resolution to the problem.

Hi Nick, CW Sellors have agreed to supply a replacement strap. They are quoting 3 to 4 weeks though. Hopefully your retailer can work something out for you. British Watch Company had the XL strap in stock earlier this week if you need one quickly. Tag themselves, still haven't replied although perhaps they have linked my direct enquiry with the discussion CW Sellors have had with them.
