Yes, because Connery was too tall to fit in the standard coupe version. It's certainly gorgeous, whether in coupe or convertible form.
Yes sir @Pitfitter446 They made two one-off topless 2000GT. Toyota happily agreed to be part of James Bond film, You Only Live Twice, which is mostly filmed in the Land of the Rising Sun. They commissioned 2x white 2000GTs with one being an extra. Both are now in Japan where one is displayed in a Toyota Musem. Sir @Mspeedster is also correct about the 6’2” sir Sean C fitting inside. It was made to resemble a convertible but it is truly open-top / topless Daniel Craig James Bond picks the Toyota 2000GT as his most favorite “Bond Car of All Time” Probably my favorite Toyota car of all time. Looks check. Race and performance check. Pedigree and provenance check. Celebrity and film status check. It was also simply Avant-Garde at that time https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cu...toyota-2000gt-roadster-that-saved-james-bond/
I’d like to resemble the Toyota 2000GT with the Heuer Monaco achieving a very high “cult-status” Both were a product of the late 60’s to early 70’s. If I’d pick a watch I have to drive a 2000GT, I’d chose my Heuer Monaco Blue for the Coupe and Heuer Monaco Grey for the Cabriolet Dreams keep us pushing forward Design, technology, appeal/pop culture, avant-garde
Hi, Congratulations on all your beautiful collections! Here are some pictures of my Porsche miniatures. For about 10 years, I have been collecting Porsche models in 1/43rd scale. I had a showcase with more than 700 references. One day I was bored with it because it took up a lot of space and cost me a lot of money. I resold everything. Today, I limit myself only to Porsches where Tag Heuer is clearly visible as a sponsor (not in a very small one). Porsche is my favourite brand (my dad has owned more than 10) and Tag Heuer is my favourite watch brand (my last one I bought was my 50th since 2002), that's why I limit myself to these few.
I have this too, although not wall mounted. I also have the Bugatti Chiron and have toyed with the Lamborghini Sian, but I just don't have the space for another large, Technic set.
This upcoming 1/18 AutoArt release of the McLaren MP4/6 has my interest. The model looks to have nice details and removable body work. https://autoartmodels.de/model/89152/ There's also a 1/18 Lotus 99T that looks good as well. https://autoartmodels.de/model/88727/
Wow! That’s really nice! I thought of getting the Lotus but I’m still awaiting my Honda RA272 from AutoArt First Japanese Grand Prix Winner in 1965. If it was a McLaren-Honda MP4/4 I’d probably reconsider
Very nice sir! I have the white version of the AutoArt S2000 but in LHD. It’s actually the only LHD in my modest collection. Very hard to find the RHD TBH I haven’t taken a pic. The Honda S2000 is Honda’s most legendary RWD street-track IMHO
My regret at selling my first S2 was loosing the red/black interior, all black just isn’t the same. If I’m honest the model is probably much cleaner that the one in the garage, snow/ice kinda discourage washing it.
The red interior is a Honda Type R signature. I dig the red more so seats really match the red Honda R logo The S2000 is one of those popular track cars which is trult fun to drive. Never had the chance to drive one but they say, closest to its driver fun & feel is the hachi-roku 86
But the engine bay of the model looks kind of filthy! Were you trying to match the real thing too? LOL
I've built plastic model kits of the Honda RA272, McLaren MP4/4 and Lotus 99T. But by the time Tamiya released their 1/12 scale super detailed model kit of the MP4/6, I had gotten too lazy and passed on it. So now this new AutoArt release is a nice one for me to add to my collection.
You must mean the new 86, right? I've driven the S2K and the original 1980's 86 (it was my wife's car) and they are nothing a like. LOL
