Are all Mercedes / AMG dashboard clocks made or branded as IWC? 😕 Nice ride sir @Jim Dollares 👍

The lease price depends a lot on the devaluation of the car in 4 years. As the Mercedes are devalued less than the Jaguars, that is why the lease price is more interesting, even if it's a higher priced model
Oh yeah, I get that. I know Jags depreciate really badly, but my company car scheme used to get a really good discount on the list price to compensate, so perhaps those good deals are no longer on offer.

MB fan over here.

Current daily driver, 2014 GLK350, repossessed by the wife:

Garage queens, in storage in home country:

1994 SL320. The R129 was my childhood dream.

1988 560SEC.

1992 E60

Previously owned, 2013 SLK350 edition 1:

There's also a 1972 280SE undergoing restoration.
Plenty of memorabilia and diecast models.
Beautiful collection! I especially like and am envious of your '92 E60 AMG! I really love the E class Hammers! ::psy::

Located some photos taken with my phone...

Like I said, this is my first ever Mercedes-Benz and what I love most about it are

- The wooden steering wheel and the polished walnut interior in combination with the brown interior
- The comfort, jeees it cant be stated enough how good this car is on long drives. You can do 180 on the highway while relaxing in a quiet and super comfortable car

Last but not least, a close up of the dashboard clock, this is a watch forum after all right? 😁

Lovely interior Jim! I can see you're a man who puts family first.

Never owned a Merc, my dad did though, he had one of those enormous biege estate cars from the 90s. He liked it, except when the backseats got stuck half way down and seemingly no-one could fix it. I don't know what happened in the end and I can't ask him as he's no longer about. Oh and his business partner borrowed it once to go on holiday and he blew the engine up...
My dad also bought a Mercedes in the '90s. He grew up poor and had always aspired to one day own a Benz. Finally, when close to retirement, he bought a '95 C280. Same body style as @Albert-AMG 's awesome C55. My dad cherishes his car, which he still owns today. Although he's in his 80's now and rarely ever drives.

Owned two Mercs in the past. Good cars but have since gone back to BMW and now Jaguar.
I like BMW too. But out of the big German 3, my current preference is for Audi. Have never owned a Jag, but the F Type is a sweet looking car.

My all time favorite Mercedes is the 300SL Gullwing. It's been a long time dream car of mine, if only I was as rich as Jay Leno...
Untitled.jpg

Here's a video of Jay Leno with his 300SL. You can also see in the video that Jay owns an E55, just like the one I used to have. 😀

MBUX Hyperscreen
The future of the Mercedes-Benz dashboards?

Next Mercedes-Benz EQS (the 100% electric model from the S-Class family) to be launched in 2021 will include this amazing MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User eXperience) dashboard... Is it maybe the future interior also for the rest of the range, and not only for the 100% electric Mercedes? I love it!! 🥰

A video explaining this amazing MBUX Hyperscreen:

It is so sad to see all manufacturers going full touch screens on everything. Navigating climate control with touch screen is so inferior to physical actual buttons that you can use without taking your eyes off the road. I guess the future is that it will be like using your phone while driving, against the law to use the car's functions while driving. Stop the car and change tempersture to avoid getting a fine (or crashing).

I see many people online talking about VW saving money by using cheap touch screens rather than tens of physical buttons and I guess it makes sense in that price range but please can luxury vehicles remain user friendly 🙁

No, on the contrary! The new MBUX system and its “Hey Mercedes” precisely allows you to manage practically all the functions of the car (navigator, radio, music, air conditioning, telephone, interior lighting, seat heating...) without taking your eyes off the road, with simple verbal commands, as if it were “Siri”.

MBUX provides a lot of driving safety, precisely because it’s more user friendly and it avoids distractions and having to touch and search for buttons. The new facelifted E-Class already equips MBUX, yours can also perform voice commands, but it is not as simple and intuitive as with MBUX. It really is amazing! The touch screens are for the passenger or for when you are stopped, but while driving you manage everything by voice and without taking your eyes off the road 👍

I agree with this. The iDrive in my BMW 3 series was so much easier to use on the move than the touch screen in my Jaguar XF.

You should test the MBUX voice control 😉

Voice controls frustrate me. I'm always swearing at Alexa. I can never get the commands right, plus I listen to a lot of electronic music in the car and I can never remember the name of the tracks until I can see them and navigate the list.

I can't get the wife’s Seat to understand my accent - I had that same with a company Honda - looked at the latest Leon and a lot of the controls on the dash “iPad” don’t light up, using technology for the sake of it, really handy till it stops working, sorry Sir, new dashboard req’d?

😁 👍

As with Bamford external customizations, I usually don't like Brabus, preferring the original -and 100% official- AMG versions... Brabus is only official for smart 😉
