Just added Senna's '84 Race of Champions winner to my mini Mercedes collection. It goes nicely with my AMG 300E 5.6 "Hammer" and 300SL Gullwing. I've always had a soft spot for the 190E 2.3-16 😀

Today is the 40th Anniversary of that inaugural race of the Nürburgring on Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.3-16 (W 201) equal cars, won by Ayrton Senna 🙄

That race had an incredible line up of world champions and future world champions. This video shows many of these iconic drivers introducing themselves before the race. Senna, in his rookie F1 season, beat them all.
