Just an update to this thread.

Pretty much decided to treat myself next year now, can achieve 20% of RRP through work, but nearer the time I would like to know/ see if more is achievable.

Ideally would like this version with the 02 movement (unsure if this would ever happen). As feel RRP is high for the movement you get.

What I also did want to know is the 90's grey 5Oth anniversary model has a lovely blue & red stitching strap, can these be purchased separately from TH?

Lastly - anyone got any nice long term reviews of this particular watch to read, feel like some procrastination from work!

Thanks Brad

You can purchase these from a TG boutique, yes, although it's probably safest to tell them you have that specific model the strap comes from, otherwise they can be very reluctant to order for you. I think this is partly to protect themselves in the event it doesn't fit your watch (since Tag will not state that straps are compatible with models they are not designed for). At least I hope they're not going down the Rolex route of banning minor modifications like this and only fitting the correct parts.

I hear you. I wanted to wait for a C11-like version of the H02 too. But people say it's not easy for TH to fit a left-side crown with the new movement. So who knows, could happen in a few years or maybe never. I couldn't wait and found an AD that gave me the kind of discount I was looking for on the C11 McQueen. I couldn't be happier! Another option is you could buy second hand for even more savings, to counter your perception of the movement not being worthy of the retail price.

I bought a spare strap for my 90's 50th. So yes it can be done and I wasn't asked to verify that I owned the 90's watch.

As for long term reviews, I will have owned my C12 Monaco Gulf for 10 years come 2021. Just in time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the movie Le Mans. Never had any issues with the quality of the watch or its movement, its been serviced once, and I simply love it. 馃榾

Unlike many of my other watches, I never tire of the Monaco. It's just too cool for school with its square shape. I find myself rotating my other watches often, like every few days or a week at the longest. But the Monaco is one watch that can easily stay on my wrist for more than a month. I find myself not wanting to take it off. 馃榿

Thank you, that's good to know I'm not the only one. Possible 2nd hand could be the route, but would prefer 'grey' or new.

It certainly is a 'cool & iconic' design which sways the movement issue I have. I generally wear my BB58 daily, then throw the Pam on for 1 or 2 days. But crying out for a blue dial watch, and this design has always sung to me. Being a 'dive' watch fan mainly, some chronographs seem too busy for me. I know the Speedmaster is 'icon' and one watch people say you should have in your collection, the Monaco just has it, what ever it is. Unfortunately my missus isn't a fan of the square 'ugly' watch. She wears an Apple Watch so lets not discuss that!

Update to an old thread, was killing some time at Bluewater last week, whilst the other half returned some items, popped into the Tag AD (thought Boutique but part of Beaverbrooks). Tried on the Calibre 11 and the new 02 on bracelet.

Wanted to get more of a feel that the size would be OK, and not as uncomfortable compared to my Panerai (which I'm in two minds to sell). Thought I'd check out the 02 on bracelet as well, only to see if it works with the Monaco. Pleasantly surprised that it does and I will look to purchase one when I do pick ups the calibre 11 version. Defiantly my next big watch purchase.
