·Hi there,
I need your help, again. The day before yesterday I received my first Heuer. Is a Heuer 2000, 937.013.

Because it’s mine I want to do my own maintenance, mostly cleaning, really good cleaning. I’ve got the tools that are necessary, screwdrivers, clamps even an ultrasonic cleaner. First thing I did was removing the bracelet and put it in a ultrasonic cleaner. The bracelet looked clean, but when I pulled it out of the ultrasonic cleaner is was really clean. I gave it a good rub and it looked new to me, almost new, it is still 33 - 35 years old.
First thing first.

During the removal of the bracelet I noticed different pins in the bracelet. Are there people here who can tell me which ones are the right ones and how they stick in place? There are pins that not have the same width as the bracelet, broken (or does is has to be consisting of two parts ) and even rusty?

I wanted to know if the watch is still waterproof, I went to two jewelers and one told me it couldn’t test the watch, because it didn’t had the tools. The second jewelry told me they could only test it until 100 meters instead of the 200 meters this watch can handle. My thought on that was that 100 meters is still waterproof, but I didn’t felt quite right so I thanked them and left. If a watch is waterproof till 100 meter is it waterproof, right?

Because I don’t know if the watch is watertight I decided not to swim or shower with it. In that case I can open te watch and see in what kind of condition it is. Are there things I can clean within the quartz clockwork, I’ll mean are there some gears I probably can clean and maybe even oil? Or something?

If I decided the open the watch, based on your experiences are there good methods to clean the watch face and dials?

Last question (for know) If I remove the bezel can I reuse the spring in it again, or wil it break? I just want to check and clean all the parts as far as I can to maintain it’s lifespan. I want to make this a small diary about my watch and its maintenance. Of course with your help and pictures for other people to see it.
