So the Monaco bamford arrived last week in my country. They phoned me but i was reluctant to go after hearing the price via phone. It's only took a week for the 3 pieces that arrived being sold I missed it...
Yes online prices for the Monza are really good right now, obviously not a popular model which is good for anyone who wants one
That Monza's not bad actually, the hands are cool. Would have been a much cooler direction to go for that blue Autavia IMO, give it a little '80s Autavia style
I agree. Whilst it is lovely. I’d rather have a more classic monza and get my ‘orange’ /retro fix through other means. 3k is a lot to oay for simply a different colour. Beaides, need to invest in a ‘watch wider’ thingmybob before I pick up any more watches. Resetting the time is getting a little tired
Well yes and no. I admit i underestimate it would be sold that fast. I was making a bet under preassumption that it won't be sold that fast thus give me time to arrange war fund I like the watch. Carbon and unique color scheme. But honestly with the price, i could get Steve Mcqueen Monaco PLUS Aquaracer Chronograph Ceramic Bezel. So regret, maybe a little. But not that much.
Does anyone know if these watches have numbers, and do they follow the standard xxxxxxx.xxxxxx format?
Oddly enough I quite like it. I might be a bit strange, but I have a soft sport for orange watches. Not sure why.
The concept of orange and black is fine but this is just plain tacky and lacking in the design department, like most of the Bamford creations.
If it's a custom watch specified by a client then the design may have been out of their hands? I still like Bamford's Forged Carbon Monaco!
I guess opinions of design are always subjective. What some will love, others will hate and others will be somewhere in the middle. I’s not buy this parcicular one personally, but Neither would I refuse to wear it if it was given to me as a gift. Ia gree it would have been bettwr executed. To my eyes a lot of theae BWD customisations simply change the default colour scheme - and not always for the getter. On this example I think Th are just as guilty of ‘tacky’ options now and again. I’m also guessing this example is flattered by the lighting in the photography. As a ‘painted on dial’ with little to no dimensional contraast then I expect it will look quite flat in everyday use.
Actually, if it was on a black strap it wouldn't look nearly as offensive, in fact it might actually look quite alright...
I think this latest design has some interesting ideas (I like the use of the TRON-like orange piping), but just can't get behind the final design.
