Started getting into watches around a month ago and the addiction is getting a bit ridiculous- First was the Gulf Monaco, then had to get a couple of modern chic dress watches went with carrera calibre 5 & a twin time.

Started looking for a vintage watch and found this Heuer Montreal from the late 1970's its a 7750 movement i believe - The interesting thing about this particular watch is the day/date is in German so it possibly lived part of its life in Germany or a German speaking region of Switzerland. Pretty cool addition is the seller also sent some straps with it..i wonder if that Heuer Steve Mcqueen strap one is genuine (doubt it)

i did some research and found that there was an F1 driver in the early 80's that was known for wearing a Montreal but a diff model than this one- can't remember the name (i believe a german and he did lose his life to the sport)

Congratulations on the Montreal as well as the growing collection.

German day/date is cool and something I meant to add to my collection for a while already....amongst many other watches 🤨

The driver known for wearing a Montreal was Stefan Bellof, but his was the 1st generation with Heuers own movement in the Calibre 11 (or was it 12?), so whilst sharing the name that is about it as everything else is different.

The nato strap with Steve McQueen on is not from Heuer or Tag Heuer originally I don’t believe.

Nice watch, you seem to have the convex case with circular brushing. They also came in concave cases, slightly smaller and usually without 'Montreal' on the dial but with the same ref nr. I've been looking into these 7750 Heuers, very reasonably priced these days, certainly in comparison to the 5100 tool watches like the AMI and Audi.
