Well... it's made from genuine staomess steel!

Yep, that was the point and name of the thread that was condensed into this one. Staomess Steel I guess will never look good.

Hi everyone
New to this forum could you please advise me on this supposedly Grand Carrera Calibre 36.Auction house say it is authentic but the rear of the watch doesn’t look legit to me but I am definitely no expert.
Cheers

Thought the backs on these were transparent and would have a serial number on it.

Yeah, that has all the hallmarks of a fake GC. Some of the metal is corroding and clearly isn't stainless steel (perhaps it's staomess steel!). What "auction house" is this?!

Exactly. All GCs have sapphire case backs.

My reporting the STAOMESS watch to eBay didn't keep it from selling, FWIW. Pretty disappointed that eBay let it be sold for $893. I feel sorry for the person who got taken. I even contacted the seller; of course notta.

I am curious, did the seller reply you ? If yes, what did the seller say ?

He did finally reply saying "It's a type of steel." I replied back that TAG Heuer has never has such a thing, He's in denial I suspect. Someone tell me I'm wrong and I'll apologize to the seller.

Me, trying to google Staomess steel...

I do expect fake copy to use cooler material like adamantium next time though...

Okay, am I the only one who had to Google 'recursion'?

TAG should take a leaf out of Rolex's book and start using Tagnesium or something.

Basically, recursion occurs when a thing is defined in terms of itself or of its type. Google's results for "staomess steel", brought him back to the thread where we started. 😀

I like the illustrations provided by Wikipedia.

I actually think that STAOMESS is a type-o; it should be STAY-A-MESS!!! Kind of like the old Chevy Nova in Spanish meaning "doesn't go." I also googled it and got nada.

Hi All, I have just spotted this Tag Heuer Monaco 24 Cal 36 for sale near where I live. Just wondering if you Tag experts think it’s genuine. Thanks

In the words of Nancy Regan, "Just say, No!" What do you think 200MTEERS means; I'll translate, it's Chinese for "FAKE" and not an abbreviation for "Mountaineers." Below is an article on the real thing. It's often said, "buy the seller." I believe that applies here as well.

Here's another less impressive article.
