Arguably fairly simplistic, but thought I would share. Article from Chronext:

Facebook keeps showing me local ads for watches. All fake of course but this one that popped up today really wins the prize. Anyone ever seen anything worse?!
C craigcCan anyone tell me how often these Quartz movements need servicing please and how essential regular servicing is? If anyone can tell me typical servicing costs too would be appreciated.
@craigc here’s my thoughts on quartz. They do not need regular servicing and it would be nuts to do that frequently given the low cost of quartz replacement movements.
I’ve got a quartz Omega I bought in 2005, which has never been serviced, and had only 2 battery replacements.....it keeps perfect time and has no issues.
I had two of my vintage quartz Heuer’s serviced by a decent independent watchmaker for £50. They had both had issues and stopped after 30+ years of on off operation. One required new parts (taken from a donor module) and the other just a clean up and then both came back to life.
So based on that is it worth servicing them too frequently?

Thanks to all the knowledgeable people on this forum- I chose a watch with confidence after reading all the pointers here. Cheers.
