Hey, got my hands on this piece, no idea whether the watch is authentic, as I can't find anything similar online when it comes to the dial, found a similar bezel and backcase design, but the dial looks a bit off... Any help or opinion would be greatly appreciated All the buttons work

Bad fake 😉
Thanks, definitely thought so, just being curious though: which elements show that the watch is a "bad" fake?

I was going to say - literally everything is wrong. The bracelet links appear to be separate halves, which is something most fake Links get wrong, but they're obviously uneven.

It is not even a replica of an existing watch, but a completely invented dial. At least they have used their imagination instead of copying 😁

I kinda like when they do that. Sometimes they are kinda cool...

I found this one the other day:

Not an "invented fake" but a combination of complimentary parts to create something unique.

Dear guys (and the occasional gal?). I've been lurking on this forum for some years now. Ever since the TH virus got me. Up until now there was no real need to jump in. Wouldn't have thought that I'd be posting my first in this thread. Not proud of it but here's the story.

My first three TH watches I got from local official dealers. Got good deals on 'em too. This summer I got the AR virus. Don't have one in the collection yet. I have an 18 cm (7.1 inch) wrist so 43 mm is way too big for me. Set my mind on the WBD1110 41 mm quartz. Since it's been discontinued I had no choice but the head for the bay. A couple were on offer by sellers from Japan. As we know in general Japanese sellers are not known for selling fakes and there is quite a pond to fish in as a lot of THs are sold in Japan.

Went for a complete set with warranty card, still valid. Seller has sold a lot of way more expensive watches and is a bigtime seller with excellent feedback. As you can see in the listing the photos are detailed and I could see nothing that worries me. Got it in today, the watch is indeed the exact one in the photos. Warranty card serial and date check out fine on THs website. So far so good, but..

Comparing the warranty card with another one that I got straight from the dealer I notice an obvious colour difference. On top of that the texture on the box is off compared to the one I got from my dealer, also has a different feel to it. Both watches are from 2022 by the way. Love to hear your opinions.

Hadn't paid much attention to this thread in the past but I'm reading it backwards and I now see I have bought about the most counterfeited TH there is.

Opened it up, here's pictures of the caseback and movement. As expected it looks like the designated movement.

That is weird. I did not know they were still putting those movements in by that time. Tho it should say tag heuer on it. But who knows what the watch maker did with it. Keep in mind, that movements don't matter anymore, as the fakes DO have the designated movements now. Tho I've never seen this movement used in the fakes. Always the newer stamped barely repairable movements. First the silver Swiss parts one. and now they are using the gold swiss made ones. One thing they still don't do, is use movement holder screws on the quartz. I don't recall the last time I've actually see the WBD1110 in a fake version. Got more pictures?

Thanks James. It doesn't say Tag Heuer anywhere on the movement. Have you seen the pictures in the ebay link? Tell me what you need.

I had an AR of the same gen. It also had a 955.112 that wasn’t marked TAG Heuer, but was definitely the original movement. It was a weird time where they were still able to get those movements before switching to the ETA F06 movements… then changing again to Ronda 6003.D movements. But they stopped putting the TH on the coil covers a while ago. I wish I had pics of my old AR. If I find some, I’ll post them for reference

I think I got one, guys. Check this ugly thing out. The bezel “pills” are wrong, the TH shield on the bezel is too thin, the case is certainly not an F1 case… also, look at that gap in the links on the bracelet 😲

Hey everyone!

First time posting here, please let me know if I should be moving this thread somewhere else.

I've been looking for a few days now to buy an older Aquaracer. I really like the older models, without the striations on the dial.

I came across one on the local second-hand market for ~850$, coming with the box and warranty card.

The owner has shared that:
* the watch is from 2008, but they only wore it for about 1 year, as they got a new everyday wearer in 2009
* the watch has only had one service and it was "a long time ago"

One concern that I have about this watch is that looking at the warranty card, it looks like the serial number and model are filled in wrong, i.e. swapped.

What do y'all think? Does it look authentic? Is it worth going to have a look at it? If yes, what should I keep an eye out for?

Also, is the price a good one, given that I'd also have to invest in a service for the watch right away?

Thank you!
