I was also going to say the date font looks odd, but I think it does actually look like that!

I'm going to say you are confusing the gentleman. The watch looks fine to me.

The lume is clearly off center, and it's supposed to be IN the bezel insert, not ON the bezel insert.

Anybody fancy a free Indy 500? Apparently they're having difficulty giving them away.

yes, because now it's getting more difficult to tell which watch is authentic
and many people say that there is an authentic tag heuee, but there are also those who say it is a fake

People try to sell watches on Farcebook?

Sure do, I got one of my re-editions off there for half the price I paid for my other one! and I thought that was a bargain!

Came through with all the paperwork including his name on it so had some peace of mind it wasn't 'hot'.

Everyday becomes harder as FAKES become EXACTLY like the REAL ones. Buy the seller, not just the watch.

What you must not do is assume something is real because it's 99% correct - often now the 1% is the only difference between real and fake.

Equally, though, there are many people, on the larger forums in particular, who are very quick to call fake on something when actually it's just a poor photo. The perils of trying to authenticate your watch online from poor seller photos.

Very true, there are some websites (EST1897 for one) that has very shonky photos that make you think 'what the hell is that' when it's just a bog standard Carrera

I try my best to never say something is fake, unless I see an obvious sign. If you put a fake in my hand, I will tell you 100% of the time tho. But pictures are hard. I require certain angles. We are talking a difference of mm's on some parts. But an angle can distort that. Formula 1's for example, the nubs that stick out around the crown, are more narrow on the fakes. Or aquaracers, the end link, where it sticks up against the case, is more round and smaller. Take a bad pic and I can't see the contours of the lume.

Not talking about you. I'm talking about the people who don't really have any knowledge about the watch in question, but can't resist adding their opinion anyway. They may say it's fake based on something they've seen in the photo, such as poor engraving, but is really just a photographic artifact. Or say that something isn't lined up properly when it's just the angle the photo was taken at.
