As always, eBay is the absolute best place to find all those models you never even knew you wanted!:)

Hallo, i recently bought an Aquaracer from a guy on another forum. He sold it as new without papers but told me it‘s 100% gen and i can check at an AD. 1 week prior i got the same watch from an AD and wanted to swap them cause his was 350€ cheaper. After i got it i noticed some differences between both watches. I told him my concerns and he accepted to take back the watch. After he got it back he told me he went to an AD and they confirmed it‘s gen. I dont think he was telling the truth as i cant believe it’s gen. What do you think about the watch? Gen or Fake?

the Print on the Box looks like crap. The A of Heuer especially. Same on the inside.

The Glas is Not Even With the bezel. Sticks 1mm out. On my gen it’s perfectly even

The lume dot at 12 Looks totally different

Also the Clasp has a different thikness. Supposed fake has still the foil on it

The distance of the Tag Logo from „Aquaracer“ is different. right is gen

I would say that it is obvious that he sold you a fake one

What i dont understand. He offered me to let it check at an AD. If he knew it’s a fake That would have Been Crazy. Or can‘t an AD tells appart a good fake from a gen? He Said it was Bought in the carribean without Taxes etc. and Thats why it is so cheap

This is not the first time we see examples of AD's that confirms fakes to be genuine so in order to trust the advice you have to trust the dealer. There are way too many Tag AD's and many of them also sell fashion watches and crap, looking to make money. In my town there is only one place I trust, where the owners and staff have a genuine interest in watches and the store has a long history etc.

Looks fake to me. The box printing is terrible - no way genuine.

There is a nasty story on the Swedish watch forum klocksnack.se about a fake Aquaracer that has been sold and bought between 5 (!) different forum members until now when current owner discovered that it is fake. Same signs as we have seen before but a really "good" fake, most obvious flaw the lume dot. The watch also has an authenticity certificate signed by one of the country's most famous auction houses.

Like we have concluded before, only buy Aquaracers brand new, from an AD you trust...
