Nice find David
The stories that go with our watches make for a great read.
We should all contribute to writing a book, have a chapter each and regale our most valuable stories.

Congrats on the new watch.

Let's be honest, none of these 'vintage' US muscle cars handle in any way at all ::bleh::
Tell that to John Wick.

Or to the 1970 Trans Am Championship field....

I’ve driven ‘65 and ‘69 Mustangs and a ‘72 Corvette. It’s pretty bad.

A Camaro is "a small, vicious animal that eats mustangs" ;)

(according to 1960s ad lore)
In '68 and '69 they did just that.

Here's one from 1968 displayed at the 2016 Indy 500. Chevy certainly wasn't going to let Ford get away with all the wins.

Mark Donohue was the driver for the Penske team.

Hard to make such a broad judgement unless you know 100% they were all in perfect order.
Old cars are just like old watches, they only work as well as they have been maintained or restored... sometimes that's not very well!
Shiny paint and chrome doesn't mean it's running correctly at factory spec ;)

Correct it's not a scientific observation but those race spec muscle cars are nothing like their public road brethern. Great for cruising but not for driving fast or at least turning fast ;)

Turned out the chassis were acid dipped to cheat and reduce weight, too!
