Hi All, I have a brand new, unstickered, untouched SBF8A001.11FT6076.
Bought new in 2018.
I'm discharging then recharging the battery every couple of months.
is this the best way to keep the watch in pristine working condition.
Hoping it may be collectable in the future as this is the only connected model made in TAG's La Chaux-de-Fonds workshop, qualifying it as Swiss Made.

Hi @andybilsy !

Nice one! 👍

I think to keep the battery in good shape is better to store it at 80% (not at 100%), and just check the battery level every couple of months, charging it up to 80% again if necessary (battery could be around 75-79% after two months stored). That way you do not waste battery charge cycles, which is each complete charge and discharge

I think E2 Modular 45 is certainly the most collectible generation of the Connected, for being the only Swiss Made, and for its great and unique Modular concept that guarantees the future beyond obsolescence, thanks to its three mechanical modules. For this reason, both complete and its accessories separately, it maintains high prices in the second-hand market.

In any case, I doubt that in the future you will be able to sell an E2 Modular 45 more expensive than it was new (as is the case with most TAG Heuer watches, which are more destined to enjoy than as an investment), except perhaps some of the Limited Editions as the Alec Monopoly (300 pcs) or the Giro d'Italia (101 pcs).

But who knows? Perhaps in the future a brand new -standard- E2 Modular 45 will be so difficult to find that it can also be sold at a price similar to -or higher- than what it cost new. It will also depend on whether -by software and hardware- it will continue to work fine as a smartwatch

That’s a well balanced answer. Thanks for taking your time to reply. I paid £750 for the watch so I hope it will retain its value. And I do enjoy examining and comparing it to the each of the other 3 models I own.

Yes, of course if you paid just £750 for this brand new E2 M45, it will retain its value and more! In my previous message I was referring to the official retail price that it cost new 👍

Yes I was diligent as well as lucky when I found this on eBay. It’s the fact that’s it’s the first ever Tag Heure smartwatch assembled in Switzerland that has the greatest appeal to me. Im lucky to own a Gen 1 with the extra titanium bracelet that again is in fantastic condition.
But as you stayed previously they are not modular.
