Hi altogether,

I am a regular OF user and posses several watches of Omega and other brands but I am completely new to Heuer Vintages.

I found this eBay auction for a Heuer Carrera 73323 which looks really beautiful to my eyes:

https://m.ebay.de/itm/Leonidas-Heue...x-7733-Senna-/263525944086#vi__app-cvip-panel

Unfortunately I cannot find anything on this specific model except the following auction site which had offered an identically looking one: https://auctions.bidsquare.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/2148/lot/734561

I would be grateful if anyone has information on this model. Was the price of the eBay auction alright?

Thanks and best

Thomas

Looks all wrong to me. Carrera dial in early Autavia style case with a bezel that’s certainly not Heuer.

The model number stated is that of a Carrera, which this most certainly is not. The dial also looks maybe to have been tweaked or maybe a redial. It’s the red markers around the edge that are weird to me and suggest something is up with the dial, as does the logo being lower than necessary based on the length of the 12 o’clock marker.

This is my opinion based on the Heuer models I have seen, but I am far from an expert on these model stated.

I have a heuer 73323 which is often referred to as the poor mans carrera. It looks like this...

Although I am not an expert, especially on the ref. 73323, I agree with Gambba that not many parts of this watch have ever seen the Heuer factory. It seems to be the very same watch in both auctions. The serial number 817452 is completely fictional, imho. Not sure if the engraving on the bridge and the caseback are genuine. The leaflet in the background of the photos, in combination with the item description, strongly implies that the watch has been serviced by this well known dealer in Germany. You might contact him directly and ask if he knows this watch. I personally wouldn't touch it.

Dear @Gambba and @Retsamaes,

Thanks for your feedback. That is in line with my own research on OnTheDash (http://www.onthedash.com/Guide/_Chronographs/60s_Chronographs/70.Reference_73323/).

On second comparison, the watch on eBay seems to be identical with the watch from the auction site - there is an identical stain on the movement (between position 5 and 6) and an identical engraving on the inner caseback (see pictures below).

I am still curious what kind of watch this is...

There seem to be at least Tag Heuers from that era with diving kind of bezels (though different), e.g. https://www.chrono24.de/heuer/autavia-2446-2nd-execution-transitional-serviced--id7866511.htm

Thanks! I definetely will not buy the watch... out of some late night curiosity I had been bidding on the item (not winning). After the auction the seller contacted me and asked me whether I want to buy the watch because the winning bidder is allegedly from the US where the seller does not ship to. Alarm bells were already ringing but I wanted to check with you experts.

I am still curious and contacted Classic Heuer whether it was in service there and whether they know more...

Just had a friendly phone call with Mr. Bitter from Classic Heuer who was not very amused that his flyers have been used in connection with this watch.

The seller has only ordered the leather strap from Classic Heuer and has then used the flyers for advertising purposes. The watch has never been at Classic Heuer for service and is not original.

I am happy that I did not fall in the trap. Proper due diligence is always the best!

I’ve got to be honest and say I’m not sure there’s a single part which ever graced the hands of Heuer.

If someone paid the amount mentioned on the bidding site, then I feel truly sorry for them and they really screwed up.

For me when looking at Heuer watches it is generally the quality of the parts used and finish of the dials which shines through.

Total fake. Glad you haven't bought it, but someone out there got duped into paying over $2000 for this piece of garbage.
