Exactly, imagine missing out on a perfect LE Carrera panda 😵‍💫
Maybe Hodinkee has dibs on that and will do 50 pieces for double the price, sold out within 1h 🙄

After the price hike of the Skipper they would totally get away with that.

The faux patina colored lume is so subtle so it fits the dial perfectly, might even think the design would have been worse without it

Did the classic historical "real" Carreras usually come on dressier straps? Is that why they went for shiny alligator on this one?

The lume is a great match for a light golden brown strap

No. That's why many of us will change it! 😀

Ahaa, so we can assume that the Hodinkee panda version will be on a more racing styled strap

Try looking for pig skin straps if you want something resembling the original. Atelier Romane has something quite close.
Would love to see it on the double grain bor though.

We all should have learned our lesson last Baselworld with the prediction of new colourways for the BB58 and instead we ended up with the P01

Can TH bring back the Skipper or some sort of new variant? Wonder if Hodinkee has an exclusive period on that. I doubt it though, since there are many other models that can be used for inspiration. Perhaps it returns a decade from now.

Bulang & Sons do off-the-rack straps with no edge stitching. Or do you mean no corner stitching? Can't remember the Siffert strap off the top of my head.

Either way, any custom shop will do it for you - Heuerville, Wristwatch.me, Veblenist are three of my go-tos.
Just looked up Veblenist. PERFECT. Didn't know about them. Thanks!

They did but as I understand it that period has lapsed. However, it'd be stupid to simply issue it again. If there's another Skipper, it'll be something a bit different I expect.

They're nice straps - reach out to him here or OF too @Optimizer13 - I should ask him for a referral bonus 😁

Don't think it'll happen this year, I think most of the new Carrera line will still have some eye towards modern buyers

Hope there is a variety of new Carreras including old style reissues like this one, and new ones, I'm sure there will be.

I think the 60th Anniversary & Jack's birthday would be the logical time to bring in the Pandas.

Thought I read in an article a few days ago that they are moving towards announcing products as soon as they are available (Apple style) yet this is announced 6 months out??

Yes, that should become the trend moving forward, but they're not there yet on all launches.

That said, the revised Calibre 5 Autavias are available for purchase now and the same for the Heuer-02 Monaco.

I'd guess so too, especially if they've learned anything from the shotgun blast of LE Autavias in the same year as the original reissue
