Tag Heuer should start to take this issue seriously!

They ought to switch the entire movement, not only repair the date mechanism, and keep the faulty movements to analyze what's wrong with this caliber. If this is the tip of an iceberg on this new caliber they stand to loose important credibility on a market that’s already pretty tough as it is.

For those of you who like to read more about why and general “good to know” in any field that you sooner or later will come across, go to: https://forums.calibre11.com/threads/readers-drives-whats-your-current-motor.53802/page-11
Obviously, I haven't heard anything official, but I guess they are taking it seriously and maybe even have fixed the issue. Given it's TH's first "real" in-house movement I could understand that they had some initial problems.

Hopefully, they've already worked this out under the radar and have upgraded their new batches of movements.

OK, so I have an answer back from TAG Heuer. Yes, the Heuer 02 does have a quick-set date function. There are no known issues with the Calibre and the date movement- other than, the date should not be changed in the later part of the evening, as per the instructions.

Thanks for checking and clarification!

My Autavia now works as it should, with quickset that sets the day exactly on midnight. I haven't had any problems with the chronograph hands since I got it back from warranty service, so hopefully, everything works as it should!

Hi, I'd be interested to know if the cal. 17 has this issue with the quick date function. My Monza reissue has gone back to TH as the date does not change but can be set. There is nothing in the manual to warn you, but I have read about the correct way to set the date. I've searched the threads but only found this one. I like to think I'm pretty careful.
TH service came back saying it needs a new crown and full service, but didn't explain why, or what cause of the issue was. So I have asked and await a reply! Any info welcome. Cheers

As an update, the feedback from TH is that it wasn't user error but the date function was jammed, resulting in a £410 service bill. After challenging this, despite the watch being out of warranty, they reduced this to £135. The customer service was excellent but I am still concerned about the fragility of the movement. Wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Do they just replace the crown as a matter of course with services? Both mine had new crowns as part of servicing, although only one of them had an issue.
