Hi all, I have posted this elsewhere and not received a reply yet, so thought I would post here, in hopes of getting some feedback.

I recently purchased a Heuer 02 Carrera 42mm chrono, and I noticed that the date begins to change at around 11:30 and fully flips over by 11:45. I have not even removed the protective plastic from the watch, and have not set the date yet, only wound it up to make sure everything works as it should. Apart from the very early date change, everything else seems in order.

Can anyone with more experience with the Heuer 02 movement tell me if this is standard, or did I get one out of spec?

    Thanks!

I have the Heuer 02 but no date version so can't help. I'm surprised it's not a bit better than that, but it doesn't sound like something that would particularly worry me.

Seems normal to me. Mine starts to move even earlier before it fully changes at around midnight.

My Autavia CBE2110 Heuer 02 changes date in a similar way, starting to move even earlier, so it seems normal for this movement

@dgm9 after your question I was curious to observe how my five automatic watches (which are equipped with five different Calibres), change the dateā€¦ just for fun :)

Three of them have a very similar behaviour (Calibre 16, Calibre 1887, Calibre Heuer 02) with date wheel starting to move around 23h:

and the other two (Calibre 5 and Calibre 17) start to move the date wheel quite later, around 23h30:

although the date is fully changed around midnight in all of them:

    Calibre 16: 23h57
    Calibre 5: 00h01
    Calibre 17: 23h59
    Calibre Heuer 02: 23h57
    Calibre 1887: 23h59

Here, the Autavia Heuer 02 at 23h55, with the date still to change. It was fully changed 2 minutes later

I've been watching mine the last few days, too. It seems to be settling in now. The other night it started around 23:30 and took until 1:00, last night it had started by around 22:30 and finished almost exactly at 00:00. Will be interesting to see what happens over the next week.

This is very similar to mine, both when changing from 27 to 28, and from 28 to 29... the only two nights that I have checked it ;)
